      updated game to 3.13
      retail version no mods windows xp
      system language english U.S.
      try to open save for game 2 intermediate
      again the save file you have selected is protected to ensure the assets in your mod folder have not been changed

        Ok - very very strange.

        So you have retail Civ IV and retail BtS?

        And retail Warlords?

        Blue Marble not installed?

                  Ok - try uninstalling BtS, remove all related folders in "My Games", re-install and repatch to 3.13.

                  If that does not work - the repeat the process with Civ IV itself........

                    I removed BTS, deleted all files in my saves, but it still didn't work. I then uninstalled BTS and Civ4, reinstalled all, patched, and it still doesn't work...

                      What versions of civ and bts are you using - retail/gold/steam/d2d or any other way of purchasing it?

                        By this - do you mean you deleted all the civ related folders in My Games?

                          I have retail version of de DVDs.
                          I deleted the directories and all the files in My Games.
                          I am running windows XP SP 2

                                Will this work with Solver's patch, or will I have to delete that? I uninstalled Blue Marble, and am still having this problem as well.
