    It's Viking month on the History forum

    We're dedicating this month to a special feature on Vikings. This means we want the following-

    Articles on any aspect of Viking history- biographies, social histories etc.

    Discussion topics on Vikings.

    Any questions you think readers of the forum can answer.

    Any aspects of the Viking era that interest you.

    Get out your horned helmets* and get busy!

    Things I'll definitely be doing-

    Biographies of Ivar the Boneless and Ragnhild (the Black Widow of Orkney). Possibly Olaf Gothfrithson too.

      One of my favourite themes- Viking trade and trade routes.

      I'll see if I can have something ready for Sunday or Monday.

                  He'll be featuring in the piece on Ivar, but I won't do him in his own right as there's serious doubt as to whether he can be considered a historical (as opposed to fictional) character in his own right.
