Barbarians show up more often and the empire management gets more difficult as the difficulty level gets higher.
Let's give the barbs a chance.
I voted immortal. The reduced free happy and healthy faces make resource trading more important, which I think makes MP games more interesting.

I like Emperor level for MP.

It's trivial to finish a game in Deity. Winning is another matter, although that's not too difficult if you pick the right settings. Winning under 'usual' settings is much more difficult, though by no means impossible.Originally posted by Keygen

Upkeep, happiness, health, and barbarians are the main differences as I recall (I may be missing some, can't remember off the top of my head). Plus of course research becomes more expensive the higher you go up. So difficulty level actually is fairly relevant.Originally posted by Rhothaerill

I think the Immortial level is best because this is the replacement for the old Demi God level, and the DG level for a DG just makes a lot of sense.

Emperor precedes pretty clear, with Immortal and Prince following in the 2nd and 3rd position respectively.
I voted Monarch.
Puts more emphisis on resorces (like someone mentioned earlier), plus makes expansive/charismatic traits more important.
Emp or Diety will slow things down too much imo, but are prefered to Warlord or Cheiften.
