BS, regarding MySpace. They're probably counting "registered users", which is like a step above "eyeballs" of yore, way back when internet marketing was young.

The first minute was filled with facts they had taken from textbooks. I quit because (a) the music they were trying to create dramatic atmosphere with was pissing me off and more importantly (b) the clip was meant to be thought-provoking, but it failed miserably.

Samsung spent US$4.6 billion into R&D in 2004. That's 32 times that Nintendo figure, meaning that Samsung alone spent 64 times what the US government did, theoretically.

That said, the US may not directly fund R&D, but they help create an environment conducive to massive R&D spending.

Can't say I'm schocked - 2 bill people leaving the socialist road to selfdestruct of course will make waves.

The myspace part was of course BS.

As far as MySpace pages being visited 30 times a day, they're probably counting page views, which are artificially inflated because of MySpace's piss-poor design, which one thinks is deliberately designed to refresh over every tiny thing.

With things like AJAX, there are no doubt many pages which are "visited" more frequently, but cannot be tracked like standard metrics.

I hate hearing about the future. Just reminds me how crappy things are now.

Yup, just think how crappy life was before the invention of das interweb. How did people manage to survive in those dark ages ?
