If faction = demogame team, then maybe. Though I still disagree with some people on a few issues...

I don't think I've ever argued against Zkribbler either. I'm probably in a faction, but I'm not sure exactly who else is in it.

So there is seemingly only one poster who feels they have a consistent shared party line, on at least some issues, with other posters.
Is this the vast right-wing conspiracy that is out to nobble Oerdin? I think we should be told .....

It depends on the issue. There are fairly well established factions on particular issues, but they don't hold together if you change the issue...

i think we have become one big faction in this Forum... truthfully... deny what you will, i know what i see. there may be disagreements, but i know whats going on...

It depends on the issue.
Most of my arguments here are political - either ME or general liberal/conservative political ideas.
Some staunch "enemies" proved to support some very similar ideas on other issues.
VJ is a good example.

Nope - unless someone enrolled me without telling me.
I don't know why he saved my life. Maybe in those last moments he loved life more than he ever had before. Not just his life - anybody's life, my life. Why should I (or anybody else, for that matter) when the responses are so predictable? It makes for dull theater. Don't get me wrong, there are areas that I think the people here could get into and really say something interesting, it's just that most of the posters are so preoccupied playing their characters that they don't really engage.
But how many of us are characters? Perhaps this is who I really am. I was thinking about this the other day. Who am I really? What kind of person am I? Am I like the persona I am here? I am actually really serious in real life. Too serious. I come here to blow off some steam. This is who I really am.
Perhaps our responses have become too predictable. But at least LS isn't saying everything is for hippies now. Now if only the banana thing would go away..
But that is bound to happen when we have been here this long. What you really might be saying is you are tired of us. Can we be and post other than what we really are? As I said before, I can't fake things.

But how many of us are characters?

what kind of factions are we talking about here? Apolyton factions or real life factions? political? what?
I can't say I belong to any. Some of you have already figured this out. But I'm a flip flopper.. I try to please everyone, but in the end, end up pleasing no one. I sometimes do things I don't particularly enjoy just to fit in...

I think we've established that there aren't really factions that hold together over much more than a single issue. For example there is the self-styled CPA, but I don't know whether they actually agree on much more than disagreeing with Bush. Then there is the alleged Oerdin-bashing group, but whether they agree on anything other than their alleged mission-statement I don't know either.

We don't. I hate Kuci with a passion...

Mm. I think a better way to look at it is to look at the percentage of posts that are in character rather than the number of posters who are (usually) in character, since it gives a better impression of the feeling of reading Poly. But in any case, I mean, how many regulars can easily picture posting as another user for a day? Not to the point of being unable to tell them from the original, but in general?Originally posted by Dis

It takes time to grow into roles...most of the people who I'd consider 'in character' didn't start out that way, they found something that other people responded to and then kept doing it until it became self-caricature. I don't think it's a matter of faking, it's just the way that some groups develop.Perhaps our responses have become too predictable. But at least LS isn't saying everything is for hippies now. 'responded to' can mean 'found annoying' as easily as 'found entertaining', I should add.

I'm in the CPA. I'll generally agree with fellow commies, and occasionally support them in discussions.
If I disagree with them on a separate issue, I will refrain from attacking them.
