  • Will Al Gore run?

So I finally got around to seeing his movie An Inconvient Truth and I must say I am impressed. Not because he is saying anything shockingly new but because Gore has pulled a bunch of stuff we already knew into a nice convient package which lays the case out clearly. What is more interesting is that the movie is pretty obviously about Al Gore and seems to be a vehicle for him to stay in the public eye and expound on his platform.

So what is the purpose of a political movie unless he plans on going back into politics? Sure, on one level it is just a documentrary about global climate change but on another it is like a biography for Al Gore and a chance for him to get his name out there and to get people to remember him. So what do you think? Is Al Gore going to run?

It's nearly too late for him to get in. So I'd have to say no.

I thought Bill Clinton didn't announce that he was a candidate until November of 1991. If Gore announced in the same time frame Bill Clinton did then it would be Nov 2007. The obvious advantage to doing it late is that it gives the other candidates time to peak and then become old hat so that approaching the election Gore would be the fresh face on the block.

The obvious downside is that Gore used most of Bill's team in 2000 but Hillary is going to take those people in 2008. Thus Gore wouldn't have most of the people who worked for him in 2000.

I read an article the other day that was amusing. They claim that since the next election will be first one in a long time where an incumbant president isn't involved that the field of candidates is considerably larger than normal. As a result, high level campaign workers and stratigists are in high demand and profiting from the increased demand.

SO yes, anyone entering the race late will have problems finding highly qualified campaign staffers.

And I doubt Gore could ever appear as "FRESH"
It's almost as if all his overconfident, absolutist assertions were spoonfed to him by a trusted website or subreddit. Sheeple

It's an interesting question. Gore would probably be better off waiting until a later election (when all memory of his disastrous 2000 campaign is forgotten), but god knows how much longer this global warming hysteria will last. If he's going to run on his environmental credentials, he should do it sooner rather than later.

I'd say that after the water's around knee level the hysteria will turn to sheer panic.

Maybe the smell? Or it could be the added ability to sing which some zombies have.
