watchtower and listening post

Watchtower extends borders but listening post only lifts the fog. To me this makes watchtowers much more useful and half the price. Has this been over looked?

Oh and AoM IV rocks.

You just need to have a lot of time to play as each game turns into a marathon.

Listening Post has much greater vision, 6 I think, while the Watch Tower has only 3 (or 4 on hills and mountains).
