I have always made it a policy to strike hard and fast at Monty because of his silly aggresive attacks, regardless of reason or logic. Now I believe Ragnar is worse.
In a game I just retired, He showed as pleased with me. We were the same religion, all green modifiers and 1 -1 modifier. I was not at war with anyone who might have goosed him and he crossed two other (weaker) AIs teritory to flood me with attackers. This is just nuts. So from now on I add him to the scorched earth list with Monty and Boney. Shaka is close to getting added to the list. I would like to see Firaxis address this in a patch to make these leaders more logical and aggresive across the board, not just against the human. Don't get me wrong, I like having aggresive AIs, but there should be a limit to there stupidity.
What does everyone else think?

Of course not, this was just one example and the straw that broke the camels back for me. I'm wondering if others are having the same experience. I know Monty is trashed on a regular basis. If enough people feel the way I do and voice their opinion, maybe something can be changed.

play with random personalities on. then you never know who the sociopath is. also, shaka is worse than bonepart, montey, ragnar, et al.
regardless of your relationship, if the AI perceives a wide enough gap in your power, they will come after you. anecdotally, it seems that your relationship just determines how wide they will allow this gap to become.
mkorin, what was your strength at the time relative not only to Ragnar, but the other civs on the block?
What I find is that if I am weakest I am vunerable to certain AI whatever the diplo situation.
Vikings attacked me 3 times last game I played.
He finally stopped when I razed 2 of his cities.
The key as always is having a stronger military. But it just wasn't possible that game because he had the tech lead, and had stronger units.
