Come on...If they used propane to make fire and not just paper, they might not have that problem. They should build a big whole and dump them in there, cover it up after a few months and cultivate vegetables.

Depends on the temperture not burning time. At 1200°C (2100F) degrees it takes no time at all.

I lament for the sad state of Indian body-burning tech.

    Re burning bodies.

Actually the cremation process does not incinerate the bones. The bones are beaten into ash in something that's a lot like an industrial strength dryer.

That's it? I lament India as a whole. I'm not racist, but I hate India. They dont give a shlt about anything. Why are they 1 of 2 countries that did not sign the treaty to have no for CFC in spray cans to prevent the destruction of the ozone lair? Why dont they dispose of their garbage properly, why are their air pollution standards so low, why the hell are they still making kids so much!!! Haven't these people ever heard of condoms?! And now all the jobs are being transfered in India...especially call centers for customer support. Have you ever tried calling there?! These people cant even speak english properly!

I'm getting hot now, better stop before I say something I shouldn't.

Before those panties of yours get even more twisted, please try looking up some facts. About half the countries on Earth have higher birth rates than India, with the real leaders being countries like Niger, Mali, Uganda...

In other words, don't blame brown people; blame black people.

I'm not blaming a color, I'm blaming a way of life. And in mali uganda and Nigeria, who cares if they have high birth rates, they all have AIDS.

And despite the high prevalence of aids, all those countries have higher annual population growth rates than does India.

    Uganda 3.37%
    Niger 2.92%
    Mali 2.63%
    India 1.38%

Ok, so?! India is the second most populated country in the world, and the first with the number of people per square mile. The birth rate is bound to slow down...

Please. And Uganda, Mali and Nigeria all together dont pollute as much as India alone.

I don't actually know specific pollution information for those countries, but I'll grant that it's probably true.

    But consider.

Total population of India: 1.1 billion
Total population of those three random countries: 52.4 million

    You can't really compare them.

Seeing as the social class you are lamenting is to a large extent westernised, I would suggest that what you are witnessing is a malaise and lack of self-confidence in the western world generally.

For example, people are de-politicised to the extent of cynicism, and of those remaining interested, so few have the sanitised, squeeky-clean personal lives that are demanded, that they dare not run for office because of fear of some scandal.

I can't speak for India, but I see too many people who measure achievement by a sign on the door, or a job title, or a salary level, rather than actually doing something that made a genuine difference. People feel entitled to the esteem of success as if it was some kind of 'human right' rather than something to actually work for and earn.

I do worry that these days there's a tendancy to quit a difficult task at the first sign of getting "stressed out" by it. I wonder if that is the lack of backbone you are referring to.

I'm interested in finding those examples of wonderful infrastructure that aneeshm thinks our older generation built for us (the ones we're taking apart bit by bit).

I admit I sometimes feel the same, but I also ask myself if that isn't the same kind of feelings and complaints you find throughout history in various forms (o tempora! o mores!)

Dude, that's just for carbon dioxide...

Why dont you take the whole picture. Like for chromium for the leather industry, CFC gas, coal plants, nuclear waste...

Posting links that suit you just to get an edge without taking the whole picture into consideration is not really convincing.

    Try again.

I brang those up to show that there were other countries contributing far more to the population problem than India. And in terms of percentages, that's absolutely true.

You wanted to compare total output of pollution. Of course a country with twenty times the population as those three countries is going to pollute more in gross figures.

But anyways. Would you care to present actual statistics showing that India is one of the worst polluters?
