    Dutch Poly Meet, November 24/25

The HCC Dagen are on Nov 24-26 this year and it's traditional to have a Poly Meet during the event. Usually we have a meet on Friday (24th) but if Saturday suits people better I'd be up for that as well. The meet will as usual be in Utrecht.

Location: I would propose the same place as the last few years, near the exit of the train station (although I still don't know the name of the place). Time: late afternoon-early evening, as always.

This is only three weeks away, if anyone's still interested in maintaining our annual tradition we'll need to start discussing...

I often have colleges in Utrecht on saturdays (part-time study) but not on november 25th, though there's most probably a meeting planned with my tutor on that day, that'll mean that I'll be in the center of Utrecht on Saturday 25th! An excellent reason to drop by on the Polymeeting!

My meeting will most probably be around 12am or 16pm
At what time will you guys meet?

    16am?

I am going to look into whether there are any cheap flights available on the Saturday morning and try and get there...I probably won't bother if there aren't any though (I suppose it depends on what you define as 'cheap' though )

(And CyberShy, just a note, there is no such word as 'oftenly', 'often' would suffice, although 'regularly' and 'frequently' would also work well, if not better )

It's looking decidedly doable actually...what would be a bonus is if someone has a floor to sleep on for the night

If Americans can use 'winningest', then surely Cyber should be allowed to use 'oftenly', right?!

Don't count on me for the meeting (as in 99.999999...), thanks for the invite though.

I give advice to a non-native speaker making an error like that. I give a massive b*tchslap to a native speaker doing that though

Yay, it lives! Nothing like sending out a few PMs to get some discussion going

I guess if Saturday works best for Provost and Cyber, Saturday will be the day

As for starting time, it typically starts in the early evening, it's varied from 16:00 to 20:00 over the years depending on people's availability. Cyber, if you have an appointment at 16:00, at what time would you be done with that?

Well I would hope there is no delay in the flight this time so I would hope to be along by late morning or early afternoon which will give me a bit of time to have a walk round with you lot too!

    Fixed my errors, Thanks Provost
If my meeting starts 16pm then it'll end by 17am.
It's only a meeting with my tutor (mentor / study helper) and a few others of my tutor-group.

    Congrats

The place I was thinking of is called De Marketier. The address is Jaarbeursplein 13. Getting there is easy: from the central train station, just follow the signs Jaarbeurs until, just before the exit of the mall you're in, you bump into it. Can't miss it. This would be a good place to meet up and have a drink, and as before we can then figure where we want to go from there.

I propose a tentative start time of Saturday 17:00 (which means Cyber might be slightly late depending on where in Utrecht he is but that's okay, the universe will find a way to ensure I'm gonna be late as well ) -- unless Thomas or anyone else is actually attending the HCC Dagen this year, then it might be better to move it up an hour.

I'm sorry, I just realise that we're talking about November 25th and not about december 2nd.
November 25th do my parents-in-law celebrate their 25th mariage anniversary, if I won't show up me and my wife will never be able to celebrate that

I won't go to Utrecht on the 25th anyway.
If the meeting will be delayed till december 2nd then I'll be there.

Saturday is fine by me, IŽll be visiting the HCC fair during the day and meet you guys afterwards.

If anyone wants to meet me at the fair just PM me.
The HCC dagen are not the fair they used to be for grand bargains but you can still find some good stuff (with a bit of haggling) and the exposition hall with the user groups are always worth a visit. Even if it is for a bit of retrogaming on the C64 and the Amiga.
The game-expo hall is also good for a bit of fun, if you can stand the massive amounts of noise. Apart from consoles they also have boardgames on display. Console-gamers are not board-gamers so you can nearly always find a seat. Last year i played a Railroad Tycoon boardgame session in a quiet corner.

Sorry to hear you can't make it, but Dec 2nd is Sinterklaas weekend, I imagine many of us have other obligations around that time (I know I do).
