Why have both of the Israeli towns pictured in this thread been so bland? They seem well laid out but with very boring minimalist architecture consistaning of identically styled, identtically colored, generic boxes. Surely the Israelis could do better if they tried.

Christianity: The belief that a cosmic Jewish Zombie who was his own father can make you live forever if you symbolically eat his flesh and telepathically tell him you accept him as your master, so he can remove an evil force from your soul that is present in humanity because a rib-woman was convinced by a talking snake to eat from a magical tree...
I don't think Israeli towns are particularly ugly... they seem densely built, so I'm questioning whether they have enough parks and playgrounds, but the architecture is OK. I mean nothing spectacular, but not ugly either.
It can't be worse than some of the new Chinese cities, where they build bad copies of famous skyscrapers from other places.Originally posted by Herra Gautason

Its funny how European cities (even large ones like London) lack substantial amounts of skyskrapers. That picture sort of reminds me of Pittsburgh, which is a fraction of the size.Originally posted by Provost Harrison

Part of a problem of a city being originally built on marshland. Skyscrapers are coming, but restrictive planning regulations have stopped them until recently. Docklands is the area which has the big buildings (at the moment), although once London Bridge Tower is built, that will be the biggest (just over 400m IIRC).Originally posted by JimmyCracksCorn

London is listed as having over 1300 high-rise buildings (12 floors and higher) surpassed by only several cities. Maybe it doesn't have a lot of really tall buildings, but it evens out by having proportionally less low-rise. Consider Atlanta, a city about half the size of London, which is listed as having 6 times as few highrise buildings.

There are some biggies on the way. And I do apologise, London Bridge Tower is due to be just over 300m, not 400m...was getting a bit carried away then![]()
