  • Legalise prostitution? I'm for it!!

Not that I need it or anything...

No really, since I'm not as cultured as all you freaks here , I dont remember in what country it has been implanted in. But I know that in some countries, prostitution is legalised and gouvernment controlled. Meaning that it's a free service, prostitutes are check for STD, earn a good living, aren't beaten by their pimps and can quit when they want. Just like a regular job.
I also heard that rape cases in these countries are really rare. Since some girls, and guys, are willing to sell there body to someone for a good time, why not let them do so. Hell, if it can save some girls life for not being raped and make beautiful people with no futur make money, why not implante it in Canada or the U.S.. Shlt, I mean, they almost sell porn on MTV these days, why not sell the real thing but in a controlled way?

AFAIK, prostitute support groups here in Canada are mostly against it, since it would mean they would have to pay income taxes. IRC, they want it decriminalized, but not legalized.

Never heard of free prostitution. Kind of an oxymoron.

The only government controlled prostitution i've ever heard of (aside from Congressmen ) was when the U.S. government foreclosed on a small business loan made to a Nevada bordello.

But all in all, legalization is a good idea if it can get the pimps and drugs out of the business, get health checks, taxation , and protect the girls from abuse (and protect the boys too).

We have legal brothels here in Nevada, where the girls can leave if they wish, are checked for STDs constantly and safe sex practices are strictly enforced on worker and client, abuse of the girls is prosecuted the the fullest extent of the law, and yet we still have illegal prostitution on our streets.

So no, legalization isn't a cure-all in-and-of-itself. Some women and men either can't be or refuse to be arsed to bother with any kind of legal regulation of the world's oldest trade.

How can it be decriminilized if its not legalized...Every revenu that is not obtained criminally, should be taxed...
How can you earned a non criminal living without it being taxed?

I think it should be legal and organized, like have all the prostitues in one place of the city, hotels for prostitutes, and the prostitute union would test the prostitues to check they dont have aids, like, guaranteed our girls have no diseases, come here it is safe.

I don't see it as a bad thing. Also make it available for people in with physical disadvantages, wheelchair people etc.

Not true. Certain classes of legal income earning trades are exempt from any and all taxation (in the US). Church workers are the example I am thinking of, but I am pretty sure that there are a few other classes as well.

Wheelchair people can have an erection, depending what their situation is.

And those who can't, they might have other ways to get satisfaction. To deny this is to deny satisfaction altogether from people in disadvantaged positions.

Churches are exempt...but I don't think their workers are.

                        It has already been decriminalised.

Most of Latin America has it legalized and confined to a certain portion of each city. That way the johns who want hookers can know where to get it, average families don't have to look at it, and public health officials can perform health inspections to prevent the spread of diseases. Several European and Asian countries do the same.

I'd be all for doing it in the US and Canada if for no other reasons then because criminalizing it doesn't work, it will be better for the girls in the business (no pimps), and the doctors can help prevent disease.
