Diverging upgrade paths ... not only does it sound interesting, but it's one of the many things that were simply impossible in Civ3.

is there truth to the fact, that beta testers can be more open on the 25?
if so, please create a spoiler thread
I would like to find out what is in the game, with as little outside help as possible
I will go and read it later
anti steam and proud of it
CDO ....its OCD in alpha order like it should be

Partially. We can talk then, I suppose about the game itself, just like everyone else can. No details on the beta process itself, of course.

LOL, you have used them that little?![]()

Btw, solver, is it true that the Camel archer's only advantage is that it doesn't require neither iron nor horses to build compared to the knight?
If that is true, it's a bit dissapointing (from a fun perspective) as it was my favourite civ, but I guess it could be really useful from a strategic perspective.![]()

Another surprising reflection... the incan swordsman is weaker than the regular quechua. It guess it doesn't require iron but... it was a bit surprising..
Should edit the above: Meant the jaguar for the aztecs instead of the incan unit. My mind was wandering.

Ouch, meant the Jaguar!Originally posted by Solver

The Jaguar's indeed buildable without resources. Given that Montezuma is Agg, it's not a poor UU.

I see your point. And my statement above about the camel archer was true?

Actually, come to think of it, just being able to build my unique unit on a camel (without the two resource requirements) every time would be pretty fun....
Oooops, I'm spamming the thread...

You haven't looked at the Civilopedia!?

Th Indian Fast Worker is not weak...sure, it is not one of the best UUs, but it is not the weakest, IMO. They are very useful on getting terrain improvements up asap. You'll understand why later...
You just wasted six ... no, seven ... seconds of your life reading this sentence.

I already understand now.![]()
I better start on "Settler" then ahaha. I have this strange feeling I'm gonna have to do that to learn this game.Originally posted by lockstep

Start your first game on Noble guys. You'll likely lose, but that will be a good way to learn the game.

That's the name I once suggested for the highest difficulty level for Civ4.
Sid really made me cry uncle on the highest level for Covert Action. I'm stubborn, though, and eventually was able to get enough done there to catch some of the masterminds.
And of course, there was This Game of Civ3.
