"Mal nommer les choses, c'est accroître le malheur du monde" - Camus (thanks Davout)

"I thought you must be dead ..." he said simply. "So did I for a while," said Ford, "and then I decided I was a lemon for a couple of weeks. A kept myself amused all that time jumping in and out of a gin and tonic."

I think that opinion in the United States is decidedly different from the rest of the world because we have a free press -- by free, I mean a virgorously presented right wing point of view on the air and available to all.- Ned

A pilot of the policy, known as the Students Accumulating New Knowledge Optimizing Future Accomplishment Initiative, has been implemented at two city schools.

SANKOFAI? Students Accumulating New Knowledge Optimizing Future Accomplisment Initiative? SANKOFAI?

          WTF?

Looks like the administration is also incapable of using English correctly.

I look forward to seeing Janglish, Chinglish, and Konglish classes soon.

I just hope they don't skimp on the funding, leaving us with a Panasinglish class.

really, i'm baffled. i really think anyone can pass high school classes if they apply themselves. the idea is to make people work for it, not to dumb it down to where it doesn't take any effort

Texeira said research has shown that students learn better when they fully comprehend the language they are being taught in.

You're reading the acronym wrong. It's

                      "StANK OF A Initiative"

See, now it all makes sense.

                            It's neither. It's a sociolect.
