Any sage advice before I journey on?

Before I played any turns. I wanted to take a quick look at the situation

We are at war with Damiyo Matsunaga

Once the Matsunaga unit comes off the mountain, Shall I plan to eliminate and capture ? or defend the city ?

I say use the Daimyo unit to attack enemies on flat land. With 4 attack points, he should be able to overcome any Ashigaru foolish enough to do so.

Well, a screen shot would be nice.

I'm thinking that perhaps if we capture one city that when the AI will speak to us, they may be willing to surrender their other non-capital city in exchange for a twenty turn cease fire if we are quick enough to do this before the other city grows.

we have no walls, andcant rush it either. Swtched to catapult

IMO: Real bad idea to send settler anywhere near 22

I think sending the Daimyo over there (use Roads) would be a good idea.

Well we certinatley shouldn't found a city with that settler until there's a defender in place. AI would probabaly declare war for the chance to auto-raize an undefended city.

Turn 3: Meadichi now a veteran, after dispacthin Ashigaru and settler (now 2 workers)

Turn4: Lost Kasuga and 9 gold
Undefended city now defended

Turn5: Oida declared war on us, trying not to lose another city
Lost two workers
Roaded Iron (forgot where)

My immediate goal:

March Meadichi and Ashigaru to recapture Kasuga

Defensive plans mostly else, make some offensive units

I will play the last 5 Thurs night

Kasuga will be easy to win back , only a Ashigaru fortified

Oida is mainly attacking with single unit stacks except for the SCB making their way over

The settler is in Tottori

I think we need to make peace with the Matsunaga for now. They gave us enough Slaves to do improvments, which was the main idea of the whole war anyway.

I doubt the Oda will want peace, though. Our defenses look weak...

Is the Ashigaru I sent to look for contacts still moving north?

Forget about construction and max taxes for mass upgrades of our ashagaru to bushi. After that destroy the Oda.

Also destroy the other two immediate neighbours. After that we can get back to research, growth expansion, etc..

It's all getting a bit disorganised. I know I didn't set up a poll because there was little reason to do so. I had mistaken that I was allowed to play 10 turns instead of 5. If I was to play the whole 10, I would have polled between turn 5 and 6.

I now see things happening including losing cities that have been ill supported by the House of Samurai. Where's the democracy in this demogame..? I hope not that I have initiated this, it never was intendend as such..

Lost Fragrant Harbor to Oda forces
Rushed walls at Bull Wheat for 1 pop
Cant sue for peace with either Oda/Matsunaga
Settler disbanded for SCB

Turn 7:
2 Workers roading Iron (4 turns)
Defeated a Ashigaru & settler/lost Ashigaru

Turn 8:
4 workers roading Iron (2 turns)
Matsunaga will accept peace for wheel and City of Kasuru

and there are two simular stacks of Oda forces. One in our territory, one will be shortly

Maybe just an loss interpetation of:
These turn sessions can be interrupted by emergencies that need to be sort by the Samurai. Thus some sessions would only be the turns until the emergency is declared. Then the Daimyo continues until his number of turns have been completed.
