Rules should be decided before you send the first turn. Most of the people here are total freaks though and will play anything, but on the second and third post in this thread Iron Civer Tournament you will find some things that I at least consider standard.
I'm full up with games right now, but soon others will post their interest here. You may want to post here Admin Thread and see if anyone needs a replacment player.

Turns take very little time individually - if you only play in one or two games, they take five minutes a day, for a long time.
OTOH, PBEM games take months, if not years.
Most of the 'house rules' are to keep people playing fairly; some (like the aformentioned Iron Civver) are a bit stricter, trying to keep people playing with the tools Civ intended. I personally don't recommend iron civver rules for normal PBEM games, but some do.
I suggest a four person game to start with - it goes faster.
I'll play if you like and/or need a player, although i've been slow in the recent past due to work committments.

Please state if you have any requests concerning anything about the game, for example type of map, map size, which civilization you would like to play and so on.

I a rookie in pbem games, playing only a 1x1 with a friend of mine... Im very interested in playing with u guys! Im not so dedicated, and can only play 3-4 turns per week i think...
