Good folks we do need to keep this to a civ discussion..PERIOD!!

So why dont we all just behave ourselves, and since not all cultures have the same humor and tastes..like for instance me, I am a recovering alcoholic and substance abuser and therefore find it in extremely poor taste in a thread about CIV discussions for anyone to talk about consumption of alcohol

But in the real world I understand some feel the need to push their beliefs that drinking is ok and humopurous but really it causes harm to the body and soul


Now

Lets all try to remember that this is..umm.. a sloemn place for discussions on CIV Discussions

Sorry Gramps most of us are just social drinkers although I have been known to go a bit overboard at times.

This is a Pub however so Im not sure how PC we can make the drinking talk.

Well, I recently discovered a detailed adavnce documentation whereas we should be mindful and only talk of Civ discussion here

while you folks drink..I gotta go use da head..i.e. once construction and irrigation were discovered in Trolldom, Fat @ss Gramps got tired of doing a number two..shhhhhh!! in the cold so he invented or rather discovered a house with flowing water to remove natural human waste..

Now..Ill be back and we can all sit around and learn about Mayan ruins and Roman Legions and why..even how America got to rule the world..umm..

Maybe when it is told downunder Steve Erwin and Mic Dundee will have a differing version of how it should be told?

I'm not as familiar with all the details as are most of you. However, I read a review and saw screenies a few months back.

My first impression is that the 3D graphics are ugly and confusing. I really like the look of CIVIII, particularly with the mods that people made. It just makes me WANT to play, looking at the screen.

For the rest of it, it sounds pretty confusing and I'll need to time sit down and figure out what is going on. I sort of wonder whether it won't be inaccesible for CIV newbs. For folks who have grown along with CIV it may not be too complicated because we have something to build on.

Also, I wonder about MP off the top. Will it be in the game from the start? Even if it is, will it work? IIRC, PtW was screwed up for awhile.

I also have firmly etched in my memory the awful posts that spammed here that first year of CIVIII with people talking about how Firaxis had screwed them and that the game was horrible, etc. etc. I wonder if that will happen again? V1.22 of C3C is a very different game from original CIVIII.

There, no liquor talk, no GB stories. Solid CIV talk.

According to the reviews this is supposed to be one of the most inclusive civ game ever because of AI improvements.

Moddablityis supposed to be great.

MP players from CIV III were on the development team, and Im talking some of the best players out there. They took there MP concerns with them and Firaxis took them very seriously.

I have seen waaaaaaaay to many bugs related to CIV III in MP over the past three years to stay loyal to that game if half of what they have been saying about MP in CIV IV is true. It was designed from the beginning as a MP game. Not like CIV III which was an add on to an old code that was tweaked from SMAC

I agree and have hopes it will all work out to the best

I have to remember when ever I play a game..its not what the other game was and will be a change thats why I purchased it to be different and hope different =to better

Good points. I hope that you guys will all work real hard at learning it and post all the strategies more quickly this time. It took a couple years to get it all out for CIVIII - you guys need to work faster this time. Don't force me to think for yourself or you'll be sorry!
