I have a newish computer which exceeds all of the system requirements for EU2 but the game still seems to crash alot. Am I the only one who's experienced this or do other people have a problem with the game crashing?

Yes, I'm all patched up and, yes, I knew the game crashed a lot. I'm just ticked off that after eight patches it still crashes a lot.

It doesn't. At least not for me. It haven't done that much since 1.06/7 IIRC.

It usually crashes when loading saves ingame, in like 3 out of ten times. That´s perfectly normal
Just leave autosave at yearly
Try Crusader Kings for a change. You will love EU2 after having rebooted eleven times at a single day because of CK crashing completely

I can even play Vicky, even though my system comes nowhere near the requirements.

EU2 crashes more or less never.
CK crashes more or less never, not even my (public) beta version does that now.

I had EU2 crash on me just a few days ago. Rather disconcerting in that it hadn't happened to me at all up until then, since installing 1.08 that is.
1.06/1.07 gave me periodic crashes with colonising but they were pretty good otherwise.
The crashes I experience are usually when the speed is set in one of the two highest settings.

I always play on the highest speed. But I have just found out when I can get crashes: When I play a¨n exported CK game.

I also play at highest speed... My flatmate doesn´t, and for him the game is stable...

Mmmm. I don't think I've ever even touched the fastest setting. I generally play at normal or the one just below.
Perhaps a query for Paradox tech support?
[ravagon's personal log - stardate 1103.4 : Ummm. May have made a discovery today. A full Grand Campaign mght actually go a bit quicker if you crank the game speed up a notch ... Who'd've though it?
