Right Click on the city. It's right near the bottom, just above the Civpedia options, 'Abandon City'.

To destroy other civs cities you must capture it with land units. Then you will be asked to select a new govenor ( make th ecity part of your empire) or raze it (destroy it). Captured cities lose 1 pop, so if you capture a size 1 city it is automaticaly destroyed.

Unless it's the capital of a civilization then you can capture it eve if its population is a 1.

Not necessarily. If the city has enough culture to grow to it's second ring, then a size 1 city will be captured by you, not disbanded.

I'm not entirely positive though if you do need the second ring (i.e. minimum 10 culture points), or if you just need the opposing city to have 1 culture point or more for it to be captured instead of razed. Anyone else care to comment.

Rhoth, I'm almost sure it's any amount of culture. Seems like the autoraze criteria are size 1 and no culture.

A city will not be autorazed if it has a population of two or over or it has produced a single culture point even if the culture belongs to a third party.

One culture point is not enough. The city has to expand beyond it's initial 9 tiles.

I found out by playing 'chase the capital' with the AI. Size 1 cities were destroyed when they have had a capital for more than one turn, but not yet expanded.

Yeah, I've had a similar experience with the same results.

I have not experienced this, and it runs contrary to what has been posted by Firaxians. If you have an example of this please post a screenshot or save as I would be interested in seeing this.

Have to add that the example I remember best probably was vanilla civ3, should be easy enough to reproduce though. Just play 'follow the capital'

Come to think of it, the save I've linked in the other thread is tailor made to finding out. Just hold off Nuremberg (believe it or not, Germany never built any culture there before America took over) for a turn.

My experience was C3C, 1.22, BTW. AU mod, though, but I don't think that would matter.

Does anyone know if abandoning a city with AI citizens affects their attitude towards you or your reputation?

AFAIK, abandoning a city with a foreign majority counts as razing it. This hurts your reputation, mostly with the civ that held the majority - as if you had razed their city.

Both, actually. They will condemn you for the razing (attitude) and you won't be able to make up for it (the change is irreversible), hence it worsens your entire diplomacy for the rest of the game (reputation). It is hard to make out a difference in this special case.
