Oh, and I forgot CS, Action Half Life and just plain vanilla Half Life...
Let's see who have how much MP experience?
Personally I haven't played that much MP... Here's a list of those I played a little (for as much as I can remember):
The Settlers III - Yes, I know... the first two games were better, but at the time of this game, I was constantly in MP mood, and I didn't have any other good MP games, so I ended up playing it much (not as much as the clans though)... it was fun (much better than SP)
UT - I used to play this over LAN with my buddies... countless of hours has been spent on this (compared to other fps games)
UT2k4 - Played it online for about a month... considering that I don't play fps that often, I did pretty well
Quake 2 - Played it a lot over LAN, but back then I was only connected to other computers 3 days per month (MAX)
When counting the hours spent on the fps games, compared to the hours spent online in S3, I have spent more time with S3
I have played other games MP... the following games I only played little:
Soldier of Fortune (I + II)
AoE 2
Street Wars
Some I've forgot...
For the past two months I've only played 1 MP game: Doom 3 (just testing)

Baron O RIP.

I've only ever played Command & Conquer on LAN. That was years ago. Nothing else, other than 2-player games on Amiga and Playstation.![]()
Very little AOE
Some OFP
Very little - not counting pbem - Civ3
about 2 min of Unreal tournament
A decent amount of Vietcong
A decent amout of America's army.
MP is either a great thrill or a big waste of time. Regretably more of the latter, now take away all those younger than 16 and that would completely change IMO.

Quake 1 2 3, UT, Half-Life (DMC, CS and TFC too), AvP1, CtP1 and 2.
Played all FPS on a off except CS for 2 years from beta 6 and got bored and increasingly annoyed with the people playing it. Id never get heavily into any FPS again. Waste of life.
Ive had the best online games with CtP2 with more than 2 players.

So nobody's in any clan in any game?
I remember I once was in a clan in S3... the clan had 4 members (3 Germans who where all related)... While I was in the clan I never played one clan game, neither did the others in the clan
I know lots of people (IRL) who's in clans... most of them are in CS clans, but a few of them are in a Battelfield clan

I really need to play more mulitplayer. It seems too often I enjoy playing wi.. I mean by myself.
I have played a couple Civ3 multiplayer games. But those didn't do much for me. Same with SMAC. But I prefer single player for these games for some reason.
Neverwinter Nights is the game I've played the most multiplayer. But it can be hard finding a good group. I have been in a few though.
Diablo2 I played the most multiplayer as well. It pretty much is a multiplayer game. But far too often the other players go to fast. It's exhiliarating, but I still don't enjoy going that fast through the levels.
I think this is the year I will get my first MMORPG though. WOW, Everquest 2, or both.

I have not played any multi-player at this time. I did connect to one multi-player server for Neverwinter Nights, but have not done anything there yet. So I might get there someday, but still prefer to play against the computer, crap AI and all for TBS games.
You should try MP though, it just isn't the same as playing alone, the thrill of outwitting a human is so much more gratifying, especially if it's a 12 year old.

Never been in a clan, and to be honest I'm not really interested anyway. I can understand kids liking the concept but that's about it.
Having said that, I wouldn't mind if some of us would get together and play the same game.![]()

I reckon most of the really good clans are in their 20-30's. Big kids. All the clans formed by kids dissolve before they even play a match, too busy with homework i expect.Never been in a clan, and to be honest I'm not really interested anyway. We do, look in the MP sections of each civ forum.Having said that, I wouldn't mind if some of us would get together and play the same game.![]()

Games I played in a clan
Quake1/TF
Diablo2
Starcraft
CS
I have a soul calibur and tekken "crew" we dont call it a "clan" in fighting games...
:-p
I played a real time game of civ3. I never really felt like I outwitted him. I did expand better and develop better bases. But in the end, all I did was build more horseman than him and overrun him with horseman. It felt more like a RTS game. It was tough getting all my moves done before the turn timer ran out.Originally posted by alva

I used to play Doom 2 over my highschool LAN all the time![]()
After that, a lot of Quake MP, followed up by some Starsiege Tribes. Then, as I got older, I got progressively more tired of playing with 14 year olds who only knew how to scream things I can't actually post here (maybe I'm generalizing, though; they very well may have been 25 year olds who only knew how to talk like that).
Tried Star Wars Galaxies for a while, but again, it's hard to enjoy an RPG when everyone around you is screaming in l337 and figuring out how to bend the game system to level up the fastest...
So, now it's mostly just Civ3 PBEMs for me! I still hold out hope for WoW, though maybe I'm just a dreamer...
I see I forgot to mention my countless of hours spent playing Duke Nukem 3D and Redneck Rampage![]()

I haven't played a whole lot of games in multiplayer, well, not in the sense of over the Internet anyway.
I once played Doom (II?) on the school network with a couple of friends. But I had hardly played it before, and they played it all the time.
Other than that, I've played some games of golf with family and friends, all just one after the other on the same computer. And I've also played quite a few games of Need for Speed II in split-screen with my sister or a friend.
And finally, I've played a few games of Monaco Grand Prix Racing 2 (lousy game, but it came with the network cards), Civ2: Test of Time and possibly Age of Kings (can't remember) with my sister over our two computer home network.
The only "multiplayer" games I've played over the Internet with people I didn't actually know are some Civ2 succession games. I also tried some multiplayer flash games once, but that was stupid, and the crowd seemed to consist mostly of "1337" 12 to 16 year old.
Many games, but Warcraft3 and Quake3 (both around 1250 hours) stand out.
Games I've Played MP (at least that I remember):
Lots of Online Play (and LAN play)
Civilization II: Gold (MP)
Civilization III: PTW
Civilization III: Conquests
Quake
Quake 2
Unreal
Half-Life
Counter Strike
Team Fortress (and TFC)
Neverwinter Nights
Lots of LAN Play
Warlords II
Master of Orion II
StarCraft
WarCraft III
Unreal Tournament (and various later versions thereof)
Rise of Nations
Delta Force (various games)
Command & Conquer
C&C: Red Alert
X-Wing vs. TIE Fighter
System Shock 2 (co-op)
Homeworld
Homeworld: Cataclysm
Star Control
Star Control II (MP melee games)
Some Online Play
Quake 3
Star Trek: Bridge Commander
Dark Forces: Jedi Knight
Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast
A few LAN Games with Family and Friends
CivNet
Warlords
WarCraft II
Age of Wonders II
Aliens vs. Predator
Aliens vs. Predator 2
That's all I can remember off of the top of my head. A lot of the above list of games in the LAN categories comes from my living in a college dorm for 4 years... the rest from having LAN parties with friends in Middle School and High School for the most part.
As for all the online play... well, I like online games.
Of late, to the extent that I have time, I've been playing a lot of Neverwinter Nights. I've also been sort of watching the development of WoW, but not terribly closely. I figure I might give the game a shot, at least, when it comes out.

At LAN parties I play AoK cos it's fun yelling at eachother irl when you're invading their base and spamming 'long time, no siege' and 'nice town, I'll take it' or the good old 'RAIDING PARTY!!!'
Same goes for Worms World Party, and I also play a bit of UT2K4 (or previously UT2K3 or Q3) there because of friend of mine plays that a lot. But apart from that I never play that crap
Way back I played some duke nukem 3D with a friend of mine - modemplay, not online of course.
Online I only play SoF1. I'm running my clan MaD^ for over 4 years now and together with a few others we're the oldest still surviving clans there.
That eats up enough free time already, so I don't play any other online games regularly, but I finish lots of SP games (busy finishing Thief 2 now).
PS: Some fun, but not well known online games are Serious Sam2 and Rune (a hack'n slash viking game). It's real fun, too bad there's not many a server left now to play on!

I play rts's and fps's online. I have the patience to stand there and be a punching bag for a while until I get decent at the game.

I did some Military Police work in my last activation last year.
i've only played quake 1(nq and qw, duel, tdm, ctf, ffa, tf) extensively and that's the only game i was in a clan too. i've played a lot of multiplayer games though briefly. i've played civnet/smac on lan some along with quake/doom/hardwar/warcraft. i've also played quite a bit of console multiplayer games. my favorite console games for this are racers(mario karts, san fransico rush, etc) and of course shooters like golden eye.
i love multiplayer games but i do carry a lot of baggage with me now . i generally don't bother with rts/fps games online anymore unless i'm on a very fast connection and i have a very fast pc because you need that if you really want to have fun. those games are like 1/3 connection, 1/3 framerate, and 1/3 skill so you can see why this is important. i also do get a bit annoyed by certain mentally unstable players who seem to frequent these games. i don't mind **** talking that much but some of the people who play these games need help. i've seen some pretty nasty stuff.

I was playing Battlefield: Vietnam over my brother's house a couple of times. I'm not sure if that counts though (. As I don't have a copy of the game at home. I generally do not like shooters. I suck. I think the most I got was 9 kills in a game.
It's kind of a fun game, just not something I want to spend money on.
I play a lot of NWN online, and I used to play a lot of SMAC MP. Oh, and when I was in college we played Goldeneye... heh, I still remember the layout of the "Temple" map and where the Rocketlauncher would spawn

The only MP game I was (some years ago) better at than most people was Atomic Bomberman... Only played it once MP, which was some tournament at some LAN party... I won... it didn't feel like I had any competition... IIRC the tournament was only 3 games deep
After that day, nobody dares to fight against me in that game, but 'demands' me to play the games where I have no chance winning![]()
This space is empty... or is it?
No, wait... that's not true... I've played it one time more at some other LAN party (about a year later... didn't play it for that year)... but at that time I had a 'minor' problem with the game: All colors where screwed on my computer, so to be able to play the game I had to take my (wireless) keyboard and site next to another players computer, and with the lack of space on the desks I had to hold the keyboard on my legs...
... I still won though![]()
