    • DAR2: Read if you have the entire map revealed (including ocean). You must also have knowledge of Gunpowder. This thread should not reveal the location of any Industrial or Modern age resource.
    • DAR3: Read if you have discovered refining and replaceable parts. This thread should not reveal the location of any Modern age resource.
    • DAR4: Read if you have discovered Rocketry and Fission. This thread can reveal everything.

      here the AU601 rules:

      • Human players will agree not to attack any city that has not been founded by their own civilization, unless that city belongs to the other human. Also, they may not take control of such cities by any other means (peace negotiations, culture flips). Since the human players will not be neighbors, early rushes are ruled out.
      • Instead, both players will concentrate in the early game on manipulating the AI to their advantage. Can you bribe the AI to attack your human opponent? Can you be the first one to make a profit from trading?
      • Leter in the game, we are likely to have a military showdown between human players, but the AI will still play a role. Can you convince the AI to vote for you in the UN elections? Can you secure the resources needed for a spaceship launch by trading with the AI, or will the other human beat you to it?
      • Each player will have a DAR thread dedicated to himself, where he is the only one to post the progress of his game. Each player may update his thread with screenshots, saves, and even ask advice from members of the AU community. Neutral observers will be able to follow the games, compare them, and comment in a special spoiler thread. It goes without saying that players should not peek in other threads until their game is finished, and neutral observers should not give out spoilers in ongoing game threads.

        Thanks for compiling this, sabrewolf!
        Very nice job.

        Here's some missing info:
        • Strollen (Rome) and smellymummy (Greece) are playing AU mod, Monarch.
        • nbarclay (Rome) and Theseus (Greece) are playing AU mod, Emperor.
        • snoopy369 (Rome) and kwpulliam1973 (Greece) are playing AU mod, Monarch.

Nor Me and Tarquinius (AU mod, Monarch) are both on vacation, so they have not yet started.

We are up to 2070 BC.
The greatest delight for man is to inflict defeat on his enemies, to drive them before him, to see those dear to them with their faces bathed in tears, to bestride their horses, to crush in his arms their daughters and wives.

              thanks for that, theseus

from now, i'd recommend everybody to post when following turns have been reached:
              - 2750bc: 25 turns, switching to 40 years/turn
              - 1750bc: 25 turns, switching to 25 years/turn
              - 1250bc: 20 turns
              - 750bc: 20 turns, switching to 20 years/turn
              - 250bc: 25 turns
              - 250ad: 25 turns, switching to 10 years/turn
              - 500ad: 25 turns
              - 750ad: 25 turns
              - 1000ad: 25 turns
              - 1250ad: 25 turns, switching to 5 years/turn
              - 1350ad: 20 turns
              - 1450ad: 20 turns
              - 1550ad: 20 turns
              - 1650ad: 20 turns
              - 1750ad: 20 turns, switching to 2 years/turn
              then we'll see further

more often, and the thread will reach 500 posts too soon, less often, and it's too much out of date

edit: at each update, you can optionally post the current score

                last things i'm missing:
                - dominae vs. krill's difficulty level and ruleset
                - who's attacking enemy cities and who isn't. cultural conversions accepted or not?

and does anybody know how i can use line feeds for making the html-table more visible to edit (not all on one line) without having it converted by vBulletin to < br> s? i've tried using an incomplete tag, but that didn't work...

Dominae (Rome) vs Krill (Greece) is at Demigod, stock rules.

Not sure what everyone else is doing, but we are playing with one simple rule: no attacking or otherwise obtaining a city that has been founded by the AI.

Theseus and I are using a rule that if one of us enlists AIs to attack the other, the victim can capture or raze up to two cities from each enlisted AI in each war. The main reason for that provision is so there will be a potential price to be paid (in terms of allowing the other player to expand more) for hurling AIs into warfare with the other player. We can also take up to two cities per AI total in wars where AIs attack us without provocation.

Here's our score situation as of 2070 BC. Theseus built a second city relatively early while I was (gasp! ) working on setting up a settler pump, but I've been catching up just a little in score the last few turns.

                        interesting rules, nathan
gives me an idea on how to spread: make the AI attack each other, and settle the area as soon a city gets razed

anyway, interesting that persia is a top-civ in our game too, only just overtaken by germanics (year 1725bc, see attachment).

edit: why has the other screenshot got chat symbols for every player (also AI) and mine doesn't have them at all?

well please pardon my DAR then, because I'm posting whenever I feel there's something to post about, basically when I get around to it.

I do include a good enough general summary IMO, I just don't include every little detail.

no, i meant posting turn updates _here_.

the DARs are completely free. you can do everything between "4000BC: started, 1675AD: won" and a perfect move-by-move description

strollen vs smellymummy is at 950BC btw. we didn't set up any tracker thread. we're doing fine without one anyway
