New game, Enigma in the middle.

Looking for players for a king of the castle game. Enigma will be king of the castle. Several other players have to bring him down.

Enigma's advantage will be a superb starting position, that's unfortunately in the middle of the map right with a big cross marking it.

The players will have the comm frequencies of everyone else and that's their advantage, they can trade and form alliances against the King. Ofcourse if you take the king out you'll need to consider who's going to gain the final victory afterwards.

Only trascend and conquest victories allowed. Players can request coop victory to be turned off if they want the diplomatic instability, and Enigma will get fewer bonuses to compensate.

How many players are "several"?

Do the players get to choose their Factions? What Faction is EN going to play? Are there going to be any AI's in this one, or is the idea that EN is replacing the AI (an idea that I do like - taking "superior" players and putting them into more difficult scenarios such as this).

I am interested, and really do like the idea quite a bit, but am currently not positive I will have enough time to play this game. I'd also like some feedback on my questions before making a decision, as well.

Regardless, great idea Kody (and Enigma Nova?)!

We need sever players. We don't want Enigma to go off easily by buying off AIs.

I think, Kody, that it will be a 6 on 1 for the majority of the game. I wouldn't need any less bonuses, since the diplomacy will only come into it when the King is off the Hill.

No, I don't think you can. My faction bonuses must be ++TURNSPEED, ++++TURNPLAY and ----DIPLO or something.

It'll be an interesting game this... Can I ask for pods OFF though please? That way we know that enigma's prime position will be kept as the best plot in the garden so the speak.

OK, I am in. If its going to be 6 human Factions, then for the sake of speed maybe we make this a 3X2 plus one? SMAX would be a better fit for me, as well as giving more selection of Factions.
As far as my Faction(s), I'll wait till I know the makeup of the Planet as well as if its SMAC or SMAX.

I don't have enough time for another 3x2 I'm afraid so if we go down that route, then count me out. Actually, strictly speaking I do, but I already get told off by my Doctor for using the computer too much...

And enigma, surely you're good enough to win with pods off, meaning no good luck (as HongHu put it) can go anyones way? Or are you saying that without lucky pods you suck?

I know what you mean. Diplomat sounds so attractive too. It's a shame that I'm also attracted to the multi dimentional spams.

Sometimes I'm so attracted to different things that I don't know which one I should go after. Perhaps I need to create some clones.

Well it looks like we have 6 interested parties here, so lets go with the 6 humans.
Also, anyone got a name for this game? I personally like "Bear Baiting 101" (only in this version the "Bear", played by Enigma Nova, isn't going to be as shackled as the traditional bear is....), or we could go with the "King of the Hill".

Hmmm, I wonder if any of that scenario will make its way into this game? I gave it to Enigma Nova along with a synopsis of how and why I built the map the way I did. The idea was to a certain extent the same as the way I believe this game is going to be set up.
Since this game is probably gonna be SMAC, then I'll choose Believers.....

Hercules, I'll take either PKs or Spartans. I've been playing a lot of Spartans recently, so my preference would be the PKs, for a change, but I'm happy for whichever faction.

Bear in mind, Kody, that at least 4 of these people will be allied against me from the start, probably 5.
They'll ignore the fact that they'll have to kill each-other after I'm dead.

They'll probably enjoy Darsnan and Chaunk taking the hill top, only to be defeated by them later.
Players are terribly single-minded whenever I am one of their opponents.

Depends on just how strong your Uni's are made by Kody. Too strong, and yeah, we're ALL gonna be gunning for you. Too weak, and we may decide that "quibbling 'mongst ourselves" is more important than knocking you off your "throne"....
Me, I'll vote for the "too strong". Maybe give you infiltration and a few satelites just to camouflage your advatage somewhat as well. You can then watch how each of us plays turn by turn.....

Actually it'll probably be my Believing Shock Troops, Lord Raptor's Hive hordes, and Colonel Hercules elite soldiery (all funded by the very benevolent CEO Chaunk) that will be doing the damage.....

I've got a few balancing tactics planned out. To make it easier for Enigma to defend himself. Also making it harder for him to strike other people early.
