The Guardinian marines were already moving towards the pass by the time Boondi troops blew it. Now, I didn't post their exact distance to the border at the time I first introduced them, but by "a few miles" I meant something along the lines of 5 - 6 US miles, or less than 10 kilometers. Assuming an average speed of about 40 km/h (about 25 mph) and a 10 minute delay waiting for confirmation of Western Apolyton's approval, they'd be crossing the border and entering the pass within 30 minutes - during which time you claim Boondi troops blew the pass and rigged it with explosives.
I'm afraid I'm not going to go for that.
In my opinion, the mining and explosive rigging would take at least several hours, perhaps a whole day or more.

ooc: yes if the guardina force was that close boondi wouldnt have time to mine, but if boondi was mining at the time surely guardina forces wouldnt approach for fear of a fireplay...
i suggest role play a meeting of the forces whilst he mining ....
OOC: That could work. The Boondi forces beat us there and are just getting started on the mining and explosive rigging by the time the Guardinian Marines arrive. Of course, when the marines discover what the Boondi troops are doing, it will definitely increase tensions...

Gives the guardina forces the choioce of trying to stop the completion of the boobytrapping or to allow it to finish . dpeends whther they esculating war or not. Somewhere in Eastern Boondi
A plane was seen preparing for its final approach to the Airfield. A man with a pair of binoculars was studying it intently. He had been infomed to allow the plane to land and to meet the Agents on board.
As the Hercules Transport landed it taxied to the edge of the apron and the huge rear doors opened. Before they had finsihed opening a group of three men carrying machine guns descended and jumped down onto the tarmac. Once they were happy they signalled back into the plane and a tall man of Caucasian background loped down the ramp and headed straight for the man with the binoculars.
"Greetings General Ratten, " he said
"General Pavlich" smiled Ratten " Good to see you too, I hear you have something to offer our government"
"The first cargo is on board General, the rest is sitting in our base to the North. Has your goverment agreed on the price?"
"I am authorized to pass this onto you" Ratten said pointing to a crate behind him.
General Pavlich walked to the crate and opened it to find it full of Gold Bars. He smiled and returned to Ratten.
"All looks good. We will fly in the rest of the cargoe this afternoon, welcome to the nuclear age General"
"Welcome to the Filthy Rich Age General"
They saluted each other and departed.

“O.k. I’ll inform Brigade HQ. Stay put for the moment, and be on the look out for WA troops. We not too sure exactly where they are, however if there not this side of the highway, they must be over there.

“General Williams Sir.”
“What is it?”
“Sir the 5th Brigade is within visual of the north/south highway. They say there appears to be no WA troops on the eastern side of the highway.
“Intelligence say there is close to 150,000 troops either in route or in the city. Get the 5th, 6th and 7th Brigades to secure the highway from the southern border northwards. I’ll request Army HQ to send in another 3 divisions to reinforce the 2nd Div.”
“Yes Sir.”
Boondi’s Army HQ
“General Kernahan, General Williams has reached the north/south road and has requested another 3 divisions to support the securing of the new border.”
“Alright, send in the 3rd, 7th and 8th divisions. Inform Generals Whitnal, Christou and Alvin, I want to see them in my office in 2 hours for a briefing.”
“Yes Sir.”
the helicopters circled the airfield and landed about 50 men on hte outskirts of the airfield. They then flew in low and hard and fired at the 3 Hercules Plane son the tarmac. Rebels came running from all directions and soon had taken down two of the helicopters , but the troops surrendoing the airfiled opened fire and soon the resistnac ewas over.
The Commander walked over to the Hanger and examined it and grimaced, it was empty, as was the now burning hercules.
He sent a signal to HQ "The Babies are Gone!!!!"
Inside the compound the guards patrolled the wire fence. With the war to the south only 150 km away, they were fearful the inmates would hear and make an escape attempt. For the past two decades since the last Border war, the prisoners of war had been held here at Camp Beldon. The mines of the local area had been well serviced by this cheap labour. The guards had spent most of their lives here too. Abuse of prisoners had become part of their daily routine, whippings and sadistic games they would play.
But now it all had changed, Boondi were the much stronger nation, their new president had built up an impressive army and Auldonina no longer supported the Corrupt WA Government. Secrets that had lay hidden for years were being eliminated one by one.
The Government had decided only yesterday to eliminate the "Lost Boys" of Beldon. By weeks end the Agents would arrive to complete the job. Never could the world find out about the Evil torture and forced labour camp.

In a lonely basement room of Government central, the hard working Julie Macneath was trembling. She had worked for the governement for 5 years and had seen and heard many things that had troubled her. She had put aside the many reports she had read over the years , reports of people disappearing and money being stolen from Estates. But now the final straw had broken her. She had seen the latest memos detailing the history of the treatment of the Boondi Prisoners of War, the boys that most in Boondi thought were dead from the previous Border War.
Now she couldnt sit back any longer, and so whilst fearful for her own life, she grabbed the memos and faxed them to the Boondi Governments Embassy on Emerald Cove Island. The only office of the Boondi government not blocked from transmissions from within Western Apolyton.
What Boondi did with the information was upto them she thought. As she retrieved the documents the door opened and Agents walked in.
"You shouldnt have done that Miss MacNeath " Said one and then fired a tranquiliser dart at her.

Catherin
The town was ablaze, Boondi soldiers were in control of the Eatern Half of the town and were firing at the troops in the Western half. The 23rd Division were heading south to find out what had happened at the pass into Guardinia . The rest of the Army were entrenched in West Catherin but were attempting to break the seige that Boondi now had the city under.
Artillery fire from the Suburbs continued to pound the Boondi positions, but the sheer weight of numbers was wearing the WA army down.

It seems Boondi could almost definitely get Guardinia to back off or even change sides if they share some information with us...

President Jesaulenko addressed his staff.
“Alright Gentlemen, it appears with the 3 extra divisions in Catherin, the north/south road is now secure from our northern border to the outskirts of the city. The 2nd Division has a perimeter set up from the city along the disputed border to our border. General Kernahan, I want the 9th Division to reinforce the 2nd Div position. We’re a bit thin along that line.”
“Yes Sir”
It was then there was a knock at the door and General Silvani, head of Special Operation/Forces and head of military intelligence burst into the room.
“This had better be good General”
“It’s is a long way from good Sir.” said General Silvani. “We’ve just received this transmission from our Embassy on Emerald Cove.”
The President’s eyes grew larger and his jaw dropped as he read the papers.
“Gentlemen, I believe we’ve been duped. According to this over 300 men presumed dead from the border war 20 years ago have been in a concentration camp just 150km over the border. A camp we have on a number of occasions had our birds fly over and best reports said it was a disused training camp.”
The room erupted in a rage with shouts of” kill the bastards, ethnic cleansing, wipe them out”.
“SILENCE” shouted the President. He turned to one of his mosted trusted Generals and close friend. "General Silivani, do you have the resources to get these men out immediately.
“Sir, I have a squadron of the 5th Aviation Regiment and the 3rd SASR on stand by. They can move out in 45 minutes.”
“Do it.” said the President. “We’ll deal with the repercussions, if any, later. And Steve………” “Yes Sir.” “………..my son was lost in that war, if you find him I want to know immediately.” “Yes Sir.”
“Well gents this changes things a little bit. I want our positions on the north/south highway fortified immediately. And I want a squadron of helicopters on standby in outer Catherin with a chalk of gunships re-rigged for troop engagement. Any WA troop movement on that road is to be destroyed.

The Apache, Super Cobra and Kiowa elements of the 5th Aviation Regiment took off from a remote airbase in northern Boondi, as well as 20 Blackhawks carrying the 3 SASR. Soon after they were followed by the remaining Blackhawks and 10 Chinooks. Another 20 Apache from the 3rd Aviation regiment had been assigned as escort to the second flight 230 choppers in all This was almost the entire 5th Aviation Regiment plus escorts.
They flew in hard and low no more than 50 feet from the ground. This was black ops, flying on total blackout on NVG’s. The 150km flight would take no longer than 30 minutes.
As the lead Apache choppers came up on there target the fanned out to form a flying V. The remaining attack helicopters flew past in a surrounding arc to form another flying V the other side of the target.
The Blackhawks carrying the SAS troops landed just outside the camp. The noise from the helicopters had aroused the sleeping camp and guards had started running for their positions. The Apaches opened fire with their 30mm chain guns. With the advanced targeting systems most the guards were quickly neutralised. A few guards however managed to reach one of the towers and fired an RPG at the closest Apache. The pilot was caught unaware and the RPG slammed into the side of the fuselage. The engine and main rotor were blown from the fuselage and the chopper crashed into the ground. The short 30 foot fall was enough to erupt the choppers fuel tanks, which exploded lighting up the camp and the surrounding area. 3 nearby by Apaches as one opened fire on the guard tower and destroy the entire structure within seconds.
The SAS troops began moving in. They encountered a few remaining guards and disposed of them quickly. Once securing the camp the troops began searching for any personal believed to be Boondi Nationals. They moved through building after building gathering any papers or intelligence thought vital.
When they reached the building thought to be barrack blocks their worst fears were realised. There were over 300 men imprisoned in the 15 buildings. The SAS troops quickly organised the prisoners and called in the Chinooks to air lift them out. Most of the men were in appalling condition, starving with little medial treatment. This looked like a concentration camp.
The Boondi nationals were loaded into the Chinooks where immediate first aid and treatment began. The Chinooks along with the remaining choppers took of for home. All except one flight of Apache.
The 20 Apaches watched the regiment take off and fly south towards home. They took off and flew east. The travelled aprox 100km and began a southeast heading. About 50km after turning southeast they came across a group of buildings.
The pilots had been briefed on what they were looking for and to all intents and purposes this was exactly what they had been told was here. With the cooling towers, the smoking stacks, large enclosed buildings and a mass of piping running between, there was no mistaking this was a massive chemical plant.
Auldonina loudly condem the Western Apolyton government for secretly building chemical weopons....
As the Evil Boondi soldiers deicmate our citys the world stands by and does nothing to help. We are forced to act in desperation. The following missions we beg for forgiveness from the world, but we must protect ourselves from the evil in the world.

The agents crossed the border to the East and travelled by night to a lonely diner on the highway through the mountians deep into Boondi. They were stopped once by a passing patrol car, the police never knew what hit them as they were cut down as soon as they left their vehicle. The agents met a few desperadoes in the diner and handed over the keys to the truck outside. The agents then slipped out and headed north again. They were stopped by Boondi soldiers on the border and after a bried shoot out were all killed. The soldiers would wonder all night why the heck Western Apolyton Spies were inside Boondi and trying to head home.

This is Henry Jameson reporting live from Western Apolyton. Ten minutes ago the Government called an emergency press conference. The following is the replay of that conference.
Scene cuts to a Video taken earlier from within the Government HQ
The camera zooms in on the Security Advisor Helen Mando, she is standing behind a dais and behind her is the leaders of the Armed Forces of Western Apolyton.
She frowns as she taps the dais for attention
"Gentlemen and ladies of the press. This Media Conference has been called to inform you of the latest in the war with Boondi. AS you are all aware, things have not been fring well for us in Catherin. Last night we were forced to surrender the city to Boondi forces. We hoped this would bring a cease fire. But alas no. Boondi this morning invaded further into our territory and part of their raid was on a Factory and workers camp. At the Camp they slaughtered all the workers and the Staff. Included in the Staff killed were Vice President Roger Smith who was visiting at the time. Also killed were the two sons of President Sarah. They were loyal employees of the Factory and were standing guard as part of their usual routine. In response to this outrage and brutal murders , we have been forced to draw our trump card from our deck. We are outumbered by the Boondi armies and can not hope to beat them using conventional means. So earlier tonight the Government authorised the transfer of certain weopons to people within Boondi who are right now placing these weopons in appropiate places as directed by myself.
If Boondi do not withdraw from within our borders by noon today. We will give the order to detonate the weopons and we will not be held accountable for the loss of lives.

Well there you go folks, the WA Government has gone completely mad and have smuggled chemical weopons into Boondi. Lets hope the Boondi Government withdraw their troops to prevent loss of innocent lives.
Auldonina activates its Emergency Team is response to this threat of chemical warfare. We will fly the team into Boondi immediatly to help with any clean up that may be needed.
