One of the better Weekend Webs lately, mainly because the BB forums offered a good glimpse to the murkier side of humanity. However, it was definitely better when they only mocked one forum at one installment (PEOPLE WITH SA ACCOUNTS, I EXCEPT YOU TO FORWARD MY WHINE TO LOWTAX NOW!11!11) If they had devoted an entire installment to the molesters, it would have been pure situation-horror gold, surpassing even macro-vore fetishist otherkin furries or what have you.

Especially creepy were the overtones that some of the boymolesters had relationships with boys, and the parents of those boys approved. WHY?

What amazes me the most is that behind the whole "I love them, I care for them" rhetoric, these people shamelessly show they care only of themselves, of their own satisfaction. That's the point of love Spiffor. It's easy to say that when the kind of person you like is sexually aware and willing. I think we should 'sympathize' with paedophiles in the sense that it's probably the worst affliction one can be born with.

I agree that it is an affliction. But I disagree with the very existence of these forums, whose aim is only to bring feelgood to pedophiles, which will probably result in more acts of pedophilia. More certainly than kiddie porn, since kiddie porn could at least be a catharsis to some of its viewers.

Don't get me wrong, I am generally in favor of sympathizing with the afflicted, and I am generally in support of this kind of discussion to lose guilt about it. "Anonymous alcoholics" or "Fatties without complex" discussions get my whole support, because the desinhibition doesn't fricking hurt other people. Pedophilic attraction is something we should be sympathetic about - bedophilic behaviour, and feelgood attempts at it, is something we should definitely condemn

I came to the conclusion that sexual attraction is a part of the person character. I.e., something of nurture, but the degree of a person's control over one own's character is limited. The only difference that this sexual attraction is, that it's forceful against people who aren't fully formed.

Well, it's my belief that being a pedophile is probably a lot like being gay in that it's an abnormal sexuality. I don't know if it's nature or nurture, but I do know that the "cures" for gay people is a crock and hopeless, so I think it'd be the same for pedophiles.

I want to be clear: I'm (obviously) not saying that gay people are pedophiles, but they're both just "deviant" sexual behavior. Pedophilia prays on victims, homosexuality is between consenting adults, so there's something wrong with the former, but nothing with the latter.
