  • An easy little idea??

    Civ2-Macintosh (moderated by MacUser)
    Current Date/Time: September 21, 2000 18:05:37

This is an example of what appears at the top of a typical forum here.

Wouldn't it be neat if I could click on Civ2-Macintosh and go to that section? The same for other forums with sections/pages?

    side note-netscape 4.74-the front page freezes my browser.I know,I know,use IE.

      Duh! Am I missing something? When you see the heading <center><table width=80%><tr><td><font color=000080 face="Verdana" size=2><font size="1">quote:
      <img src="/images/blue1.gif" width=100% height=1>
</font>Apolyton (moderated by DanQ and MarkG)
<img src="/images/blue1.gif" width=100% height=1></font></td></tr></table></center>you are in the Apolyton forum (so I suppose your hack has already been implemented ).

          No.
Like the civ2-macintosh would take you to the civ2 mac page.Or creation could take you to scenario league or Art of War forum would take you to...um...the art of war site.

Is that not what the 'hop to' feature is for at the bottom of every page?

Yeah, it is, but this'd be way more practical and fast. I support this idea.

The "hop to" takes you to forums.

Ok maybe I need to re-explain.

I'll use the mac forum for an example

                At the top left,there appears

                Civ2-Macintosh(moderated by macuser)
                Current Date/Time xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Now,what I had in mind was if you cuold click on Civ2-Macintosh and go here http://apolyton.net/civ2/mac

Oh, I thought he meant the list of sections at the bottom of the page, not the Forum-Switching Combo Box. I am quite aware what you mean, smash. That title is not used for anything, ant the moment, it should definately take you to the relevant section.

This seems like a good idea to me too. A direct link would be convient.

I don't know..... the length people will go to to eliminate what is essentially two seconds' work.....

                      Sounds good to me though
