Joe Wilson, long time Republican and appointed Ambassador by the former President Bush. Also the man who exposed the current President Bush's lie about Nigerian uranium.

If you're fiscally responsible, this is not your party. If you believe in a moderate foreign policy characterized by alliances, free trade and the ability to operate in an international environment, this is not your party. If you believe in limited federal government, this is not your party. If you believe that the government should stay out of your bedroom, this is very definitely not your party. In fact, I would argue that unless you believe in the American imperium, imposed on the world by force, or unless you believe in the literal interpretation of the Book of Revelations, this is not your party.
Christianity: The belief that a cosmic Jewish Zombie who was his own father can make you live forever if you symbolically eat his flesh and telepathically tell him you accept him as your master, so he can remove an evil force from your soul that is present in humanity because a rib-woman was convinced by a talking snake to eat from a magical tree...

Don't get me started on the Log Cabin Republicans . . . .

I have very little patience with them (yet I have a couple of friends are gay Republicans).
A lot of Republicans are not racist, but a lot of racists are Republican.

For those who aspire to live in a high cost, high tax, big government place, our nation and the world offers plenty of options. Vermont, Canada and Venezuela all offer you the opportunity to live in the socialist, big government paradise you long for. –Senator Rubio

True, true. But unfortunately there are so many that think, as Japher apparently does, that all of that is still preferable to the Democrats.

The Dems don't exactly inspire me either, but surely they are the lesser of two evils at this point. SURELY.

I don't have time to write a book on here right now, DD.

Let's just say that I believe that Log Cabin Republicans are licking the shoes that are kicking us in the ribs.

So, you can't be a Republican if you're gay?

Seems like it. Personally I'm more apt to follow the advice of Ronald Reagan who said, "Any person who agrees with me 80 % of the time is not my enemy". Mr Fun is such a bigot.

Forty percent of Americans describe themselves as born-again Christians. Seventy percenty of them describe themselves as conservatives. That's twenty-eight percent of the public, and they share control of the Republican Party with the neo-cons. Old-school Repubs are like Zinoviev and Kamenev after Stalin's assent to total power, i.e., just waiting around for the axe to fall.

These people said they're waging a cultural war in America twelve years ago. What makes you think they've stopped, now that they control all three branches of govermnet?

That's an awfully big generalization there Che. Putting people into different camps and the like. You just identified your enemies, hat being a large segment of the population. Who's waging a cultural war, you or them?

                          Harry

You say that it is big borther that needs to stay out of peoples bedrooms, but that is what they get when they take their bedroom onto the street.

It does seem that it is the Liberals waging war against the norm.

There is an ongoing battle between conservatives and liberals, and it ebbs & flows. Action, reaction. The conservatives (social, not fiscal) have been fighting back, with an unfortunate (IMO) degree of success in the last couple of decades.
