Then maybe you need to install 1.15 prior ro 1.20 and 1.22![]()

I just applied 120 and 122 with no glitches. I had 1.15.
Then maybe you need to install 1.15 prior ro 1.20 and 1.22![]()

Well I doubt very much that is the case. 1.20 is the official version of the 1.15 (beta) patch.
That's how it was supposed to be yes.![]()

Well given the evidence I am perfectly willing to believe in screwups, but that would just take the biscuit. It can't be the case. Plus many people have reported it working fine.![]()

I remember Jesse stating that inorder for you to apply the v1.22 patch, v1.20 has to be installed first...

Sure........we (well Alva) were talking about having to install 1.15. It goes without saying you need 1.20 for the update 1.22 to work.

Oh, sorry then...carry on.

Hehe your advice 10 or so posts back was spot on, always a good place to start.![]()

Yes I did install 1.20 without any problems. However when downloading 1.22 it goes Ok for awhile and then all of a sudden it speed up very fast and log off the same way it normally does.
So it's in downloading that the problem lies, not installing? Keep trying, it may be busy.

Which site are you downloading from? If you're downloading from the Atari/Firaxis site, then stop wasting your time. Download from here, they have a mirror and their servor has a pretty decent connection.

Because of the save game issue with 1.15 saves, and because not everyone has enough room on there Harddrives for a clone install of C3C, I've created two zip files that contain just the modified files from 1.15 and 1.22(includes 1.20).
Here's the two files, just unzip them into the Infogrames Interactive/Cicilization III... folder, make sure to keep the "paths" when you unzip them. Start out with just 1.15 installed and unzip the 1.22 or 1.15 files as you need to change versions.

Any news on when the 1.25 ( no middle installation steps required in between ) will be out ?
( The patch to install on the original game )
Gunter

I doubt that anyone official mentioned a number such as 1.25
But that did said that they'll make one-install version of 1.22

today

Or at least some time this week (hopefully)....

Well, I just gotta say thank to Firaxis for all their support, which is not the norm in our "fast moving" world. They do listen to the hardcore fans on this and other sites and try to improve and patch the game as often as possible. That is why I have been loyal to Civ and most other Sid games in the last 15 years or so...

So what's the general consensus? Is 1.20/1.22 worth installing? I'm still using 1.15b, which is pretty good IMHO. I'm not interested in downloading the new one basically for a tech tree change I can get in the AU Mod, if it's going to introduce new glitches, like giving the AI more gold or (dare I say it) screw up the corruption calcs again.

If you don't install 1.22, any unmodded games you play from now on will be incompatible with the final patch (whenever that comes) for sure.
If you like to keep your old saves around, you probably want to install 1.22 ASAP or remain on 1.15 forever.![]()

None of the saves I have downloaded or saved work under 1.22.
That is fine by me, but be aware.

Auto bombard for cannons doesn’t seem to work. (I’m not sure if it worked in C3C or earlier patches at all, as last night was the first time I tried it since the game came out. And I am uncertain if other arty pieces are effected).Originally posted by player1
Some things are still not done 100% with 1.22:
-MPTournament.biq still has Radio tech fully implemented
-same for all other optional biq files in scenario folder
-not all Civilopedia entries for Radar Towers are fixed (Radar Tower decsription from Game Concept group of entries and Worker Actions group of entries still refer to Radio)
-Readme.txt in conquest folder is not updated, while one in text folder is
-readme and installer refer to 1.21 patch
Still, I could call all this a group of minor bugs.

vmxa1 was unable to load prior saved games; what experience have others had? At the glacial speeds I play, it takes a long time to complete games (and I hate to waste the effort, at least when the issue is still in some doubt). With 1.15 I *was* able to play my older games. -- HtL

Word has it they are definitely not compatible now. If I were you I'd dual install and get the best of both worlds.

Er uh excuse me kindly there DrSpike, the 'best' of both worlds? Tell me, is 1.22 a good world? Not to be skeptical, however is there 'proof' of the wonders to be hand in 1.22? Or have the bugs just changed names and moved around a bit?
Sincerely,

Well I meant the best of both worlds in that he could finish his old games, and start new games with the 1.22 patch. I made no comment in that post as to the patch content. You can find my opinions quite easily no doubt.

No doubt. My apologies for offense. I am realizing that my attitude does not seem salvagable.
I had a dream, Firaxis was given a large donation of money from Microsoft Chairman, Bill Gates. It seems he was getting concerned that at the rate things were going he may be in danger of inavertantly having another monoply due to everyone elses incompentence. Honest. I need a break I think.![]()
