IIRC it doesn't list your surplus strategic resources if the AI already has one of that resource.

hi there
this is kind of driving me nuts because i haven't been able to find any answers anywhere and it seems a glaring problem.
WHEN NEGOTIATING WITH OTHER CIVS THE AI DOESN'T LIST ALL OF MY EXCESS RESOURCES IN MY SIDE SO I CAN TRADE THEM. WITH SOME CIVS IT LISTS ALL, SOME CIVS IT LISTS WHAT LUXURY RESOURCES I HAVE BUT NO STRATEGIC ONES, SOMETIMES IT LISTS EVERYTHING BUT THEY ARE FADED BC THERE IS NO TRADE ROUTE
CURRENTLY I HAVE TWO SURPLUS RESOURCES OF IRON TO TRADE BUT MY FOREIGN ADVISOR ( on the trade part of advice) TELLS ME 'WE HAVE NO SURPLUS GOODS TO TRADE WITH THE FRENCH' WHEN I KNOW WE HAVE AND THERE IS A TRADE ALREADY ACTIVE WITH THIS CIV.
why is my side of the negotiating table only allowing me to trade strategic or luxury resources when it feels like it? thanks in advance.![]()

Never give an AI an even break.

That is correct. It will only list resources/luxuries that the other Civ actually needs.Originally posted by CerberusIV

"Stuie has the right idea" - Japher
"I trust Stuie and all involved." - SlowwHand
"Stuie is right...." - Guynemer

thanks guys. i knew it would be something totally obvious. funny though that the foreign advisor's 'reason' for not listing your excess is "we have no excess goods to trade with XXX" when really what he should say is "the XXX don't require any of this resource" - the instructions are equally misleading on this matter.
thanks again for delivering me from heart ache and hassle.
