Dutch Apolyton Meeting: Utrecht, 28 November

As is by now tradition, we want to organize a Dutch Meeting during the HCC Dagen again this year (for those interested in the HCC Dagen themselves: http://www.hccdagen.nl). Tradition dictates that we organize the Meet on Friday evening, that would be Friday 28 November 2003 in this case. The location is somewhere near the Jaarbeurs and the Central (Train) Station in Utrecht. That's about a month away so it's time to see who wants to come and to determine at what time and location exactly the meet will be.

I already reserved a whole day off from work and don't have any worries with my study either (exam week and no exams on that day), so I'll be there and everything's fine with me, time- and location-wise.

So who else is coming? Also, at what time do we want to start and does anyone have any good suggestions on what bar/restaurant/whatever exactly we want to have the Meet?

But to be fair, this list includes a good number of Belgians as well (and even 2 French and a German poster who already informed me they were interested beforehand).

Stairway to Heaven owned by the infamous Henk Westbroek is not far from the Jaarbeurs, and has more atmosphere then the place you guys went last year.

In any case, I hope more people show up then last time. I think we had a handfull of people on the 'almost certain' list, but never made it.

Waiting for the 'almost certains' wouldn't have been so bad if it wasn't for the horrible weather and the fact that the place we picked was a bit too small and crowded (and we couldn't eat there)...

IIRC, we held it around 1930 last year. Maybe we should try something earlier this year, 1800 or so.

Yes, I wanted to suggest around 18:00 as well. That will give us a bit more time (especially since experience shows that a lot of people show up later than the official starting time anyway), which would make it more worthwhile for those coming from far (Belgium, or even France). That might be a bit of a problem for CapTVK if he has a stand on the HCC Dagen, but he can of course always join us later on the evening.

But I myself will most likely be available all day, so if some people would want to meet up in the afternoon already, I would be open to that as well. I've never really been to Utrecht before (not counting the CS area ) but I hear it's a beautiful city, so maybe we could explore the city. Or we could attend the HCC Dagen (I'm still undecided on whether or not I want to go there). But such things should kept seperately from the actual Meet, I think.
