This is the first benefit exclusively availiable to PLUS Lifetime members.
This is the first of many Lifetime exclusive benefits. We should note that all (or more accurately, the greater majority of them) of these benefits will pass on to regular PLUS members but at a later time (think months) while other lifetime benefits will be added. This way we want to thank those who commit themselves by buying a subscription equivalent to more than 8(!) yearly subscriptions.

After this morning`s apache log rotation, there was a malfunction on the process of apache`s restart. Apache seemed to run but not actually serve any pages, fooling our server monitoring script (which sends out mobile phone alerts to the admins).
There was no issue of data loss or any other damage. An additional external alert system has been setup. Apologies on the disturbance. - MarkG

GRAB ONTO YOUR FUNNY BONE
(5 August 2004, 19:44 | RoN) No one may be able to accurately answer which bone is connected to the funny bone, but Rise of Nations fansite Rise of Nations Heaven has marked the month of August, 2004 as reason to exercise it. A panel of judges will review fan-created screenshots or series` of screenshots and its inserted captions to determine the five funniest or amusing entries; in turn, those selected will be entered into a random draw to win a developer Big Huge Games-autographed copy of RoN expansion pack Thrones and Patriots.
Individuals can enter as many times as they like up to and including August 29th, but would-be comedians should note the formatting requirements in order to qualify for the "RoNToon" contest. While all accepted submissions will be available for viewing after the contest closes, it will be a month before those whose works go on display know whether or not they are the lucky winner. - DanQ
LEADER OF THE SALES PACK
(5 August 2004, 19:35 | RoN) Leading the pack of NPD Group`s "Top 10 Best Selling PC Games" index for the week July 18-24, 2004 is Rise of Nations. The Sims Deluxe is the runner-up, while Flight Simulator 2004: Century Of Flight takes third. Expansion pack Thrones and Patriots placed no better than eleventh as it missed the cut for the listing.
