PLANNED LAST PATCH 3 BETA
(2 October 2003, 21:33 | RoN) A new build of the Rise of Nations third patch beta has been released by the game`s developers, Big Huge Games (BHG). Clicking on the "Check for Updates" button from RoN`s main menu while connected to the Internet should start the process of downloading and then installing this update numbered 02.03.09.2604. The known issues document too has been updated accordingly.
If all goes well during testing, a finalized patch will follow, the note on BHG`s website reads. Thanks to the company`s Community Relations Manager Graham "Thunder" Somers for the heads-up on this notice. - DanQ
NEW `C3C` TRAILER ONLINE
(2 October 2003, 21:25 | Civ3) The newest trailer for Civilization III: Conquests is available for download from GamersHell (GH). The 4.8MB file in WMV (Windows Media Video) format is 50 seconds in length and a high quality 1,632kb/sec encodec. As of this writing, the trailer has video has been downloaded 454 times from GH. There are six mirror sites to choose from: four within the site`s network and two external links.

(1 October 2003, 22:00 | Alt) Due to the technical difficulties and confusion that clouded the most previous round of the first BlackNova Traders game on Apolyton CS, the start of its sixth round today comes without the typical announcement of the previous round`s winner here. The universe`s sector size remains at 1,000 although work to increase this size tenfold as per request [related story] continues.

SIXTH BETA 3 `SMACKDOWN` SET
(1 October 2003, 21:50 | RoN) The sixth "Rise of Nations Smackdown" for the said game`s third beta, hosted by fansite Rise of Nations Pantheon (RoNP) in conjunction with site host MrFitItOnline, has been set for this Saturday, October 4.
Sign-ups for the event will be accepted from 4-5PM EDT on the same day, and both playing and reporting results will be conducted in the `Unrated 3` room via the GameSpy Arcade multiplayer matchmaking service. Fifteen minutes after the said sign-up period has ended, the games -- in one-on-one format -- themselves begin. - DanQ
