`SUPERLEAGUE` SIGN-UP
(2 August 2003, 18:03 | CtP | 465 comments) It`s on again, it`s SuperLeague, the team multiplaying ladder. After the first season (started in September 2002), there was a want for a sequel, beng the relative popularity of the competition. The SuperLeague consists of teams of 2, playing off against the other teams for points, both in 2 and 4 player games (in teams).
The numerous polls for the settings of the tournament can be found in the Call to Power Multiplaying forum. Be sure to sign up quickly! - Frozzy
ON BIC/BIX FORMATS
(2 August 2003, 14:25 | Civ3 | 14 comments) A Microsoft Excel spreadsheet with data previously posted online about the BIC and BIX image formats used in Civilization III has been put together by Apolyton CS forum user BlueWlvrn.
The intent was to get the data in an offline form and in a format that one could use to create a schema for parsing, the compiler explains. So with the schema idea in mind, you`ll see some extra columns that would help a program interpret the data (assuming you dumped a comma delimmited list).
The file weighs in at 123KB. Kudos to [P]anag for the heads-up. - DanQ
HAVEN`T HEARD OF IT
(2 August 2003, 09:03 | Civ3) Fansite CS-Nation (CS-N), where CS is short for Counter-Strike, runs an ongoing "Picture of The Day" feature. As discovered by Apolyton CS forum user , their entry for July 1st parodies Civilization III in the context of CS. However, CS-N`s administration has apparently not heard of CivIII as they refer the inspiration for the piece to some popular game.

`PTW` EUROPEAN V1.27F PATCHES
(1 August 2003, 22:51 | Civ3) It`s users of the US and European (UK) English versions of Civilization III: Play The World who now have to wait to upgrade their copy of the CivIII expansion pack to the latest version. Yesterday its publishers, Atari, released the French, German, Italian and Spanish version 1.27f patches for the title. Gaming site GamersHell was the first known to report on their availability. In addition to the official download locations on Atari`s Download-Center.com (DC), mirrors were all made available shortly after 10PM EDT this evening from Apolyton Civilization Site (ACS) and in turn became the first fan site known to do so. To download the patches from either DC or ACS, click here to access the "CivIII Download Center".
Nearly ten additions, twenty changes and over forty fixes are included in this release; a full listing can be founded in a related thread on ACS` `CivIII General` forum. All but the German version weigh in at 7.7MB in size -- the one named is slightly larger at 7.8MB. These releases come less than two months after the international v1.21f patches for PTW, which themselves were released one to three months after that of US English`s, were posted beginning in late March.
Thanks to both [P]anag and [K]ring for the heads-up. - DanQ
