Round 11, run by Civman ended on a high note for Obsession by Grundel who won first place with six votes. Metaliturtle`s Forging an Empire placed second with five votes. Good job all.
Soon following that, DarkCloud assumed the duties of interim Stories contest supervisior and helped Round 12 move into the semifinal phase with the following semifinalists:

IG: SUSTAINABLE INDEPENDENCE?
(2 August 2002, 22:25 | Misc) According to a story first brokered by The Adrenaline Vault, French publisher Infogrames issued a statement yesterday stating that revenue rose 14% to EUR 769.1 million in the fiscal year 2002 from EUR 674.3 million.
U.S. revenue almost doubled in the fourth quarter ended June 30 to EUR 144.2 million from EUR 76.6 million in the same period of 2001. The success of video games such as Stuntman and Test Drive gave a strong boost to revenue. The company said it aims to remain an independent player in the video game industry and added that there are no talks under way regarding a possible sale of Infogrames to console makers such as Microsoft or Sega.
The company said it expects gross revenue to increase 20 percent in fiscal year 2003. - DanQ

Linux Today reports:
TransGaming Technologies has announced the release of WineX 2.1, the portability layer that transparently allows Windows games to run on Linux.
WineX, which currently runs more than 150 PC games on Linux, is charged on a subscription model of $5 per month, with a minimum three months payment. The 2.1 version adds support for Civilization III, version 1.0 and 1.07. Version 1.21 is not yet supported due to copy protection issues.
