BETTER LATE THAN NEVER
(5 January 2002, 07:41 | Civ3) Intelgamer`s two-page, six-page review of CivIII leaves reviewer Diamonds most satisifed. Posted on Boxing Day, December 26th, a 70%, 80% and 90% score evaluating graphics, sound and gameplay respectively led to an above average final tally of 85%.
Civilization III is the best-created game bearing the Civilization title yet. Basically put it’s the original title in perfection. This review is going to assume that you’ve played a Civilization title before. If you haven’t, I suggest finding a rock with a sunroof to live under.
In conclusion:
So it was a late review, I know that. But right now I’m hoping that your all of your are reading this review not wondering if it’s a good game or not, but agreeing with me because you already have your copy.
The thanks for the news tip goes to BluesNews. - DanQ
PG GIVES 9/10 SCORE
(5 January 2002, 07:40 | Civ3) Evan Gorin is most enthralled with Civilization III and this is reflected in his 9/10 final score of the game in his review posted on PreGaming. Included in the article is some very high praise indeed -- especially given the words are coming directly from the site`s President.
[CivIII] marks a new landmark in the acclaimed Civilization series. The Civilization series have been superb from the start, and CivIII not only doesn’t fall short, but also brings the series to new heights. [This latest incarnation] is basically CivII with some new game play tweaks and better graphics. But those seemingly small game play tweaks go a long way.
In conclusion, Gorin says that CivIII surpasses its predecessor and gives new light to the Civ series. Thanks to BluesNews for bringing this news to light. - DanQ
PERFECT GEM, STATES GIN
(5 January 2002, 07:40 | Civ3) It`s a perfect gem according to Game Industry News: that`s what staff writer John Corrado gave Civilization III in his review of the game.
If you`re interested in turn-based strategy games, but have never played a Sid Meier game, then don`t bother reading beyond this paragraph -- just get a copy of Civ III, he begins and continues on from there. If you`re a regular player of Sid Meier`s past titles, such as Alpha Centauri and Civilization II, then CivIII is still a great purchase, with amazing new features -- but there are a couple of design issues you may find you dislike.
Still, that`s not enough of a weakness to make the game a clunker, or even make it sub-par in comparison to [CivII]. It`s not merely a worthy successor, it`s a better game -- there are more concepts to keep in mind, more things to keep track of, more ways to win and more strategies to try.

WANT CD COVERS?
(5 January 2002, 07:39 | Civ3) Some Civ fans in the United Kingdom have been scratching their heads as to why their purchased copy of Civilization III contains a waffer-thin paper wallet to store their game CD while their North American counterparts have been treated to a standard plastic CD case. For those with a spare jewel case and want the front and back CD covers, you can download them from AllCiv, which just on Christmas Eve completed the move to its new home on StrategyPlanet.
