PC GAMER SCREENSHOTS
(1 May 2001, 12:52 | Civ3)
The time for lots of civ3 screenshots is definately here! Ken has sent us scanned-in versions of the screenshots from the PC Gamer preview! Included are: yet another version of the "Many units" screenshot from CGW and PCGP, a wonderfully humorous rendered version of Sid in a Victorian costume (has to be seen to be believed), and a great new Military Advisor screen.

Comment on these screens (exciting, aren't they?) on
our forums.

NEWS EDITORS ANNOUNCEMENT
(1 May 2001, 12:27 | About) Were you beginning to wonder what the "News Room" forum in our forums was for? It was a training ground for a project that has come to fruition.
The staff and administration of Apolyton CS would like to welcome two new members to its ranks, Snapcase and Imran Siddiqui. Both will be serving in the capacity of news editors. Both of these individuals went through some extensive training and testing in order to obtain their positions, which is now reflected in the forum account status (they are now both listed as "ACS News Editor").
Welcome aboard, Snapcase and Imran! - DanQ
CIV2 PBEM LEAGUE?
(1 May 2001, 12:27 | Civ2) PolarisGL, webmaster of Apolyton hosted site The Art of War has suggested that a PBEM league should be formed for our beloved Civ2 MGE! He explains:
I think it would be nice to keep record of all these great games we have here at Apolyton via PBEM.
Ranks could be divided into difficulties for regular games and rankings for specific scenario games.
Do you have any suggestions for how to make this possible? Would you like to help? Do you think the idea is good or bad? Make your voice heard. Head over to the thread. - MarkG

PC GAMER PREVIEW
(1 May 2001, 03:43 | Civ3) In the Civ3 forums, news of an indepth Civ3 preview has surfaced. Thanks to SmellyMummy for posting the thread on the Civ3 forums with the features described by the PC Gamer preview.
Some of the new information in Civ3 according to the preview include that it is only 50% done, that there are 12 major wonders, the idea that units on mountains can see further than those at ground level, that Civ3 covers 6500 years, and that it ships with 12 scenarios (with attempts to have Civ2 scenarios be able to be imported into Civ3).
Anyone with a copy of PCGamer, is begged to provide any other info or screens from it :) - MarkG
