FIRST CTP2 SCREENSHOTS!! (8 May 2000, 10:00 EST) E3 is almost here, and it looks like we'll have a flood of ctp2 information! It has actually already started, as Adrenaline Vault posted the first in-game screenshots. See all of them here. Many thanks to Palpatine who posted about it.-MarkG EC3 LIST REACHES CIV3 TEAM (4 May 2000, 13:04 EST) After a long delay, an "official" mail (with a nice introduction by korn469) was sent to Firaxis yesterday. A reply came today with thanks ("for all of your hard work!!" was the exact wording :)), and a note that it has been forwarded to the Civ3 development team. So, are we done suggesting and making lists? :D -MarkG
SEARCH ENGINE FOR CIV3 SECTION (10 May 2000, 23:39 EST) Computer Games Online posted both a feature about and an interview with Brian Reynolds, President of Big Huge Games. In the former Brian discusses each of the games he has worked on in his years in the computer gaming industry in brief. On CivII: "I was living in Richmond, North Yorkshire, in England for most of the writing of this game. I guess the countryside view was inspirational -- I think this is my best game, and it was also the most fun to make". And on SMAC: "I always wondered if my degree in Philosophy would ever come in handy for something. My favorite part of this game was developing the characters and factions, and the AI to give them divergent personalities and agendas". The latter of the two articles is a candid talk with Brian about the past, present and future. Excerpt: CGO: What is your overriding goal for future products from Big Huge Games? "If there’s one vision we all share it’s to aim for the brass ring, to always try for Triple A quality in every category of production, and to build all of our business and business model and publisher relationships around that central goal". -DanQ
