CIV 2 DATABASE UPDATE!
(28 April 2000, 5:11 EST/Civ2) Today we have six brand new files in the DB and ten more are in processing by my helper Tim Davis. We have one updated modpack, three new mods with one of them being a tutorial for novice players, a map created by a geology expert and an interesting special, which helps dealing with scenario files.

MODIFICATION FAQ
(21 April 2000, 18:10 EST) As news have slowed down, we can find the time to do make updates with this left in our to-do list for a long time. Back in November, in a call for articles to the some of those ctp-modifying-addicts I happen to get mails from, Nordicus came up with a really good(and needed) CTP Modification FAQ. Without any further delay, check it out! -MarkG

CIV3 SECTION REDESIGNED
(26 April 2000, 16:53 EST/About) Our Civilization 3 Section has been redesigned to the "Apolyton v2" layout, following the About, Miscellaneous, Dino and CTP II sections. The new layout allows more space for the actual content and faster loading.
This is only the start as on the way are a search engine for the section, as well as the web editions of the List v2(finally!) and the Essential Civ3 List. Stay tuned! -MarkG

HOW ABOUT A "CIVER`S EDITION"?
(21 April 2000, 19:28 EST) Our new civ3 poll coes from an idea of Yin. Would you be interested in a special "Civer's Edition" of Civ3? Before voting check the related forum thread
Interested in a "Civer's Edition" with lots of goodies?
Yes! No matter the price!
I would go up to $60-70
Around $50 is the reasonable price
I can barely afford the price for a normal edition
Nah, it wont be worth the extra money
Let's see first if the actual game is good...
Don't care

Out of a little over 100 votes tabulated to date, Web reviews have taken a steep leed (59.2%) over the competition -- second place, which is published game magazine reviews, is at 18.4%. -DanQ

EVERYBODY`S FREE... TO CIV
(22 April 2000, 19:08 EST) To the tune of Baz Luhrmann's Everybody's Free (To Wear Sunscreen), the following are the opening lyrics to "The Civilization Song", by Loki, as first released in our forums:

Ladies and gentlemen of the class of 'Apolyton': Play Civilization.
If I could offer you only one tip for the future, Civilization would be it.
The long-term benefits of Civilization have been proved by scientists, whereas the rest of my advice has no basis more reliable than my own meandering experience.
I will dispense this advice now...

For the rest of the fun, follow the link above. -DanQ

NUMBER OF REPLIES LINKED TO LAST POST
(23 April 2000, 10:12 EST) It's "forum hacking day" for Apolyton today :) In the thread summary page(e.g. the page where you can see all the current threads of a forum), the number of replies of a thread is now linked to the last post of the thread. This allows two things:

a) You can go directly to the bottom of a thread to check the latest replies, instead of geting to the top(as you would from the normal link)

b) If you have posted in that thread(or visited from the "replies link" before) and the link has the "visited" color, this means that noone posted after you(you have visited the page at the last post when you replied)
