MING: Faces of Apolyton #8, 26/Mar/2002 (Part II, Page 2)

PART I

Chris: That's a great story, far more romantic then me, I can assure you ;) Did you intend it, or did it just happen that way?
Ming: I planned it all, and was going to ask at dinner, but then the idiots lost my reservation for the corner table, and put us at a small table with people sitting within inches of us (boy was I pissed) so I waited until we got home and asked her then, when we were sitting in front of a nice fire!

Chris: How long had you been together at that point?
Ming: 3 years.

Chris: How did you meet her?
Ming: I met her at a science fiction convention on the weekend, and we went on our first date that Thursday. We moved in together the following day.

Chris: How long ago are we talking here?
Ming: 1979. It gets better. The day I met her, I was partying in a hotel room at the convention.
She walked in, and I knew it was lust at first sight. So I arranged for a tequila drinking contest.
We flip coins, loser drinks, and I controlled the coin, and I can rig a coin flip. ;) I made sure all the other guys got drunk and passed out, and then my wife and I left to wander the convention. Little did I know, she wanted me from the beginning.

Chris: Hah, I can hardly change the subject from this, but I think I better!
Ming: Nahhhh... not yet! We started making out in front of the convention suite, rolling around on the carpet. And people that knew us couldn't believe that the conservative 'us' was doing it. But then, we go back to the room to take a shower, which we did. I left the bathroom early, and then PASSED OUT ON THE BED!

Chris: Way to go, Casanova!
Ming: Next story;)

Chris: Now that we have the undivided interest of the membership, let's talk some about Civ-3. Is it what you wanted or expected?
Ming: No! But I think I would have preferred Civ II.5. I like Civ II, and it just needed to be improved. I don't like Civ III SP mode as the game is now. I'm not even sure whether the patches help more or hurt more. It just doesn't have the same one more turn feel...
