WORTH THE WAIT By Sean November 7th, 1998 note: This is The Column, a part of Apolyton where mainly Markos and Dan write whatever we want :). Well, not just the two of us. The Column is open to everyone. If you feel like writing submit your article to civ2@gamestats.com
Maybe it's just hitting me and I'm getting used to not having the game. (Of course, maybe that feeling is just coming from my little Starcraft craze) I've heard people go as far as to say that just because it's had so many delays there must be something wrong with the game or the gameplay is boring or not right. But of course, that brings up the question, "How can you make Civ 2 a BAD game?" I personally don't think that that is possible. But of course I'm going to stay open minded and I'm going to buy the game.
The thing is, I still get goosebumps thinking of the hours of fun crushing my friends in a "friendly" game of MGE. Or joining CivLeague and being #1, of course, that probably won't happen.
I really have no real point to this article except that no matter what
people say, or what the critics tell me or the release date for that matter.
I won't lose my faith in Microprose's ability to deliver quality games, so
until MGE is released I'll just have to put up with Starcraft. Come on! Just
a little further!
