THE COLUMN EXPECTATIONS OF CTPII By Atahualpa April 8, 2000 note: This is The Column, a part of Apolyton where anyone can write about whatever he/she wants :) If you feel like writing, submit your article via the article submission page
So, when someone would ask me: "What do you expect from CtP2" then I would answer: "CtP but improved".
I really have no clear picture of how CtP2 will look like, but whenever I think of it, I have the picture of CtP in my mind. This may be caused because the CtP community is still desperately waiting for a patch that will never come. So many will combine the picture from CtP with the new sequel (which is thought as "patch-concept"). So, while the expectations of Civ3 are too high, the expecatation of CtP2 are on a minimal level (of course this can change when we get more info on the game). This is also reflected in the "discussion-level" on both forums (the Civ3 General and the CtP2 General). If you look in the CtP2 forum than you will see some threads and only once in a month, someone posts a new thread. If you look in the Civ3 forum you see lots of posts, lots of ideas and new concepts. This is sad. I think CtP2 deserves more attention by us and we could discuss some features there as well. Even more so because the Activision crew is always open (like the Firaxis of course) to new ideas and I think it is important that we give our thoughts on how to improve the game and what could be done to make the game much more fun to play.
So, long speech, short sense: Head over to the CtP2 forum and post your comments about the game. If we don't show Activision that we are interested in the new game, we wont get any new information!!
