  • Goats

I almost bought Goat Simulator from Steam today.

    But I didn't.

I did however, have curried goat for dinner and it was awesome.

Goats are good to have around. Low maintenance and good alarms.

Goats ate best minced or at least cut I to small chunks then stewed with herbs and vegetables.

Proper cooking is essential otherwise the meat is pretty tough and chewy.

But damn is it worth it when done right.

Here is a useful and informative link

                  Goat Curry

                  DETAILS

                  Serves: 4
                  Prep time: 20 minutes
Cooking time: 1 hour 40 minutes
                  Ingredients

                  1 pound goat pieces, bone-in
                  2 tablespoons ground cumin
                  3 dried red chillies, sliced
                  2 large green chillies, sliced
                  2 tablespoons mustard seeds
                  2 large onions, chopped
                  5 cloves garlic, crushed
1 - 2 tablespoons curry powder or garam masala
                  2 tablespoons turmeric
                  2 cinnamon sticks
                  Fresh cilantro, chopped
                  14 ounces coconut cream
                  1 cup water
                  Oil
                  Salt

                  Method

Cook cumin, red and green chillies, mustard seeds, onions and garlic in oil over low heat. Cook until fragrant, approximately 10 minutes.

Add goatmeat, curry powder, tumeric, salt, cinnamon and water. Bring to simmer, cover and cook approximately 1 hour on low heat.

Add coconut cream, chopped cilantro and season to taste. Serve with steamed rice and pappadums.

Interesting factoid. In Indonesia the smell of goat makes mouths water. Whereas the smell of lamb turns stomachs. It's the exact opposite in Australia.
