  • Is this hate speech?

I have a question of Apolyton. Ran across something the other day, and was curious as to the opinion of polytubbies.

"Conjugal love involves a totality, in which all the elements of the person enter - appeal of the body and instinct, power of feeling and affectivity, aspiration of the spirit and of will. It aims at a deeply personal unity, a unity that, beyond union in one flesh, leads to forming one heart and soul; it demands indissolubility and faithfulness in definitive mutual giving; and it is open to fertility. In a word it is a question of the normal characteristics of all natural conjugal love, but with a new significance which not only purifies and strengthens them, but raises them to the extent of making them the expression of specifically Christian values."

If a man knows his wife his barren should he leave her and find another one? If a woman knows her husband is sterile should she sleep with other men? That seems kind of hateful IMHO.

What if a woman had a hysterectomy and doesn't even have a uterus? Is a man still "open to fertility" when he shags her without a condom?

Would depend on the circumstances. When were they married?

As I understand, only if one or both parties claimed that they were able to have children and then evidence came out showing this was false, and that they knew this prior.

Assume they got married after the hysterectomy had taken place and had sex after marrying.

Hateful speech is not hate speech. This is what's happening to language. I don't know why. But we're all turning into spam bots.

Provided that's been disclosed prior to marriage, no issues there.

So having sex that can't possibly result in reproduction is fine as long as it's not gay sex? (Or the wrong kind of straight sex?)

Doctor's records usually the easiest way. Most commonly this happens after a vasectomy, tubal that's not disclosed.

The key here is intentionality. Sterilization would fall afoul of this whereas infertility would not. The only case where infertility would come up is if this was known and was not disclosed prior. It's quite possible for a couple to not know and then discover later that infertility is a problem.

I submit that if BK wrote it or quoted it, it is, by definition, hate speech. Stop your microaggression.
