  • Galnemer's seventh novel is now available

    "Dark Alchemy"

Probably won't be available from Amazon for long, because apparently HarperCollins and Amazon are about to get into a big pissing match. So, if you want it, get it nowish.

How will this affect the torrents?

    But seriously, congratulations!

My limited understanding is that some people got upset with how many minorities were nominated for Hugos last year, so they spearheaded a campaign (the Sad Puppy slate) to ensure fewer minorities were nominated this year. However, even though this appears to be blatant sexism/racism/n-ism, it's actually about ethics in journalism.

You're half correct. Looking at the nomination slate, there were women on there along with a few other liberals. But, yeah it appears to have been at least partially inspired by #GG. I was mainly just trolling Guy though.

Reading about it on the internet, it sounds like sci fi fans got fed up with social justice bull**** and packed the nominations to get some conservatives nominated who had previously been snubbed. Or possibly what Lori said. Bottom line is that it seems to confirm what I kind of already suspected, which is that the Hugo awards are stupid.

One of Kuci's friends got paid actual cash money to write an article about ethics in games journalism, gamergate, and its relevance in contemporary American conseratism.
