Exploring his world. Learning things quickly, too, from the sound of it.

10 months.
When I found him last week he was grinning and chewing something. I stuck my fingers in his mouth and came out with a thumb sized rock.
Today I looked down from the hammock because he started coughing. His whole face was covered in dirt, and it was spilling out of his mouth.12-17-10 Mohamed Bouazizi NEVER FORGET

10 mo. is plenty old enough for solid food.“It is no use trying to 'see through' first principles. If you see through everything, then everything is transparent. But a wholly transparent world is an invisible world. To 'see through' all things is the same as not to see.”

Kids try to eat all sorts of ****. My grandfather once told me that he caught my infant aunt trying to eat snail poison from a bag in the garage.
If it will fit into their mouths they'll try to eat it. That's just what kids do and it doesn't matter if it is a lego brick, a rock, snail poison, or anything else. Basically, you just have to have someone watch them at all times to make sure the little bastards aren't killing himself.Try http://wordforge.net/index.php for discussion and debate.

She also eats solids, but will only eat meat and potatoes (and occasionally banana).

Ronan eats paper if you let him. He's much more interested in power cords and computers though.
Right now I try to feed him anything I'm eating so he gets used to it. I was told not to feed him fish, but that might just be overly precautious doctorspeak.12-17-10 Mohamed Bouazizi NEVER FORGET

I think his favorite food is mango, but he did seem to like the eggs and bacon an awful lot.12-17-10 Mohamed Bouazizi NEVER FORGET

She doesn't eat a lot of fish.
Neha likes computers, but learned not to eat them (she just wants to hit the keys).

The wife and I loaded up with snacks from Trader Joe's so we wouldn't have to eat too much hospital food after she delivered Malcolm. Among those snacks were a big bag of TJ's Thai Chili-Lime Cashews. Pretty damn hot, and since we had nothing but water to drink (and out of stingy little cups), we still had half the bag when we got home. Laz asks to try one. I say, sure, why not, and give him one, bracing myself to get him a cup of milk in record speed.
He barely noticed the heat. He settled in with that bag like a pig in a truffle patch, would have stuffed himself completely if I hadn't tugged the bag out of his deathgrip as he yelled. Incredible.

What she doesn't like is mushy stuff.
