  • Among homosexuals, is there "misogyny"?

    This is a serious inquiry.

So people like Mobius () think any expression of male sexual desire directed at a female is misogyny... because... reasons.

Is it the same deal with gay guys (or women)? For instance, if a gay man expresses his desire for another man, is that the gay equivalent of misogyny?

It must be, since you just objectified another human for the purposes of SEX!

So does that mean all expressions of homosexuality are wrong?

Personally, I think bigotry from the left is more tenable. That's not fair to conservatives.

Also, if a lesbian makes a comment about an attractive female, is she a misogynist?

    I'm bored.

      Because he fancies me.
Is it me, or is MOBIUS a horrible person?

And it's not about 'any expression of male sexual desire', it's about the manner - the excessive objectification - that I take issue with...

Mobius repeatedly accuses me of being a misogynist... because finding the female form attractive = misogyny.

              http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sexual_objectification
When have this ever been done on this site?
When has anyone stated "women are objects for my personal pleasure" or something to that effect?

You seem to equate any expression of male desire to sexual objectification.

That makes you stupid. Well, not that in particular. But it's one of many contributing factors.

Yep, unless someone explicitly states something, it can't possibly be reflected in their actions.

Yes and no, but it's irrelevant. Here's why:

They aren't the majority. Their ability to actually inflict their views is extremely limited. One interpretation of "racism" states that only minorities can be the victim. Though, there are scenarios that exist where the majority population is at the mercy of the minority. That was a popular strategy during colonial periods... and is why you often see sectarian wars when the minority's power is broken. Iraq is a perfect example. Even in this situation, however, the minority's power stems from the colonialist.

The privilege of the majority also vastly outshines any possible negative impact of such racism. A "black folk" can be racist. But once again, they have absolutely no power to translate this racism into public policy. In that sense, a minority can only be a bigot, not an actual racist. "Racism" generally refers to policies. "Bigotry" refers to opinions.

                  Make sense?

BTW, if you feel like arguing, you can. I'm just explaining what society says words mean. I make no moral judgments regarding the validity of any of this.

I don't figure you would one-star me for Mobibashing. Just curious.

                        Gay misogyny

Not only does it exist, it's considered "mainstream".
No, I did not steal that from somebody on Something Awful.

Last I checked, the president of the United States is Black. So no, 'black racism' isn't irrelevant to American society.

And no - I don't one staar your threads, Sava. I only one staar Oerdin threads.

I love the way your brain "works".

First, what does Obama's race matter? Did all white people become black when he was elected?

Can you provide an example of Obama being racist or enacting a racist policy?
