  • When did we get a Wiki?

Just saw that up there. Clicked on it, and it looks brand-new, no entries. Is it an old feature I never noticed, or a new one that nobody announced (or perhaps I failed to notice the announcement)?

It's brand new. If you click on the CivBE link, you'll see it's a half complete entry. That the wiki looks empty might be a problem, though. Hmm.

I'll be adding more content to the CivBE page in the next couple of days. I'd like it to be a repository of all the latest information. It's a wiki, though, so anyone is free to edit, of course.

Yah, it's brand new, so it looks brand new. I just added the link this evening. There was an old largely unused wiki that was part of the forum, but it was only used for Apolyton University forum for Civ V, which hardly got any use at all and doesn't look like a wiki at all.

I'm looking into ways to integrate the login between the wiki and the rest of the site. There's a way for past version of the wiki software, but they don't seem to work with the new version that's installed. I'm sure it will be updated soon.

We could use a lot of help on the Wiki of course. Lorizael's doing a good job so far with CivBE.

I just fixed an issue with Cloudflare's "smart errors" which works well for blogs and forums, but not so well with wikis which rely on pages which don't exist yet being accessible. So now you should be able to add pages to the wiki by typing in their URL, rather than getting the smart error page if you do so for a page that doesn't yet exist.

I click on the Wiki link and I get all of the configuration settings...

            ACK!

All the info about how to configure the software is public (and on MediaWiki's site). However you should only have permissions to actually do any of it if you have the permissions on your account. For example, all those configuration settings are only possible if you have FTP access with write permissions to the configuration files. But what they are and what they do is public info.

Yes, but now your Wiki link actually goes to the correct page.

That's interesting. I didn't change the link since well before your first post. Good to know it's working now at least

The wiki user database has been integrated with the forum user database, and the login/logoff are also integrated now.

Will be visually integrating the forum/wiki later.

Now when I click on my hotlink to Apolyton it takes me directly to the Wiki page instead of the Apolyton home page.

Apache is currently configured to direct you to the wiki when you type apolyton.net. Shouldn't it go to the main page instead?

That was quite disconcerting this morning .

Who goes to apolyton.net? It's all about forum 147.
