  • Does Anyone Else Find Watching Simpletons Discuss Technology To Be Oddly Reassuring?

I can't stop watching this video -- it is 11 minutes of pure zen relaxation:

This man is obviously at least a little dumb, and at times one can perceive his brain visibly churning as it tries to produce new thoughts and words. As a result, I'm not frustrated -- I'm oddly relaxed, like watching a dog play in the park. Does anyone else feel this way? Speaking of fatsos talking tech, does anyone know what Asher thinks of the Surface 2 and Surface Pro?

The clincher is at the end when he says he likes the Surface RT because no one uses it. It gives him a feeling of "exclusivity." What a finale. Now where's that replay button..

He just uploaded another video, urging people "not to lose faith, not to give up on the Surface RT," even though the rest of civilization has. Perhaps he is rethinking his stance on feeling "exclusive"? He also admits to paying $100 for 2-year Surface RT insurance when he originally purchased the piece of crap for $500, with a $50 deductible if he ever makes a claim.

I honestly would consider engaging in a homosexual relationship with him, if only to prevent him from finding a female and reproducing. Wiglaf has always taken hits for humanity, as when he took a paycut, ran for elected office and won in a landslide

A close second are the videos of the kids who film "tech reviews" in their rooms and/or basement, but I'm concerned that linking to them would be considered child abuse or cyberbullying or whatever the fags are calling criticism these days.

I disagree, it's sleek as hell and at least looks newer than iOS, which I'm thoroughly bored with. In any event you don't have to use it. Surface Rt/2/Pro all have a desktop mode. I'm debating getting a Surface 2. It has precisely one app (Office) and no one owns the device, but I want to feel somewhat more exclusive so it works out.

I don't use it. It sucks balls. And Apple doesn't even exist in my world, so I can't speak for OS nonsense. I'm hoping Steam's OS ends up running games without any hiccups. I'll dual boot that and Ubuntu.

"Sleek as hell". Pffft. It's just a bunch of useless crap cluttering up the desktop. I don't need to see the weather on a giant icon... or my inbox.

It sucks. Only morons like it.

It only makes sense if you are using a touch device, in which case it is by far the best touch tablet UI.

Touch devices are for people who can't program the time on their alarm clock when the power goes out.

I can't program the time on my alarm clock when the power goes out. I have to wait for the power to come back on.
No, I did not steal that from somebody on Something Awful.

I'm thinking about getting a Surface RT for my Mom, who is turning 86. She uses Word, email, and the Internet.
Downside is, she will need the "real" keyboard. Inevitably.
