The commando has a Civ coloured uniform, so you may want to change the colours of your civs before using him, I find the following work well
Dark green (american)
Brown (chinese or japanese)
White (Finland or Norway)
Grey or black (germany)
dark red (russia)
orange-desert colour (england)
