Turned Based
The fiancee and I are looking for a game to play on the same PC. Does Civ4 do multiplayer in turned based style where my civ can be turn 1, my finacees can be turn 2 and we can play cooperatively against the PC on turn 3 through X?

I have never tried it but I believe in the MP options there is one for simul move that if you turn off, it will revert to true TBS.

I can confirm that. Select the "2 players" option in the multi-menu and you will get what you want.

Hotseat is probably what you mean (a MP option). Then you can choose between Sequential Turns (normal TBS) and Simultaneous Turns.

I agree with Rasputin, its entirely pointless. I mean everyone knows I'm Korea, when you get quitters in each diplogame its better to know who they are. Isn't it?

Reading this thread, gave me an idea....
(forgive if this a threadjack, as not intended to be such!)
say i choose player 1 as me
make a 8 player slot, could i say allow me control over 3 totaln spots and war against the other 5?

Thanks to this thread, I went and tried, yes Hotseat is what I needed!
Just to get an answer though, I put say me as Team 1, use two slots, both of my civs research an adavance we both get it.
But, if I choose me as Team one and my other controlled team as Team 2 pr whatever, then we do not share tech, correct?
