With "No Espionage" you can only see your own civ on the Graph in the Info Screen.

i bet this is the last thread Firaxis wanted to see lol

also thats not technically a bug as the info screen is directly related to espionage points vs targeted civ.

an oversight maybe? possibly intentional.

Yes, well if I didn't use "No Espionage" I would have been able to see them in the graph.

Honestly if that is the only noticeable bug in 3.17, then there is no problems. I'm probably never going to use the no espionage feature anyways.

Civ IV is never ever going to be completely bug free but 3.13 had too many major issues that were impossible to overlook. 3.17 appears to fix these problems, on paper at least. I need to find some time to reinstall Civ IV + expansions and give this new patch a shot.

wait a minute here.

If i am understanding correctly, people want to be able to see the info screen demographics on all the other civs without Espionage points?

That was one of the main reasons i ever even USED the espionage slider! So now people can basically see all that info for free AND not worry about the slider to boot?

A win-win for people that never used espionage for sure. People like me that DO use it and see yall get all that free info? Not so win-win.

If espionage is disabled from game options, demographics should be visible on all civs - just like they were before BtS.

well, whatever floats your boat.

also, since we are talking about bugs, i noticed that on single unit graphics (at least havent checked reg mode) the Babylonian Bowman does not have a graphic for taking damage/getting hit in combat (he just stands there.) I was using an axeman if that helps at all.

AAHZ, if you don't like it, don't use it. Surely, you don't care how other people play, do you? I'll never use that option. I like the way espionage adds to the game feel.

Got around to reinstalling Civ IV, BtS and the new patch. Haven't started a full game yet but everything seems to be running smoothly.

One minor thing I've noticed is that the Civilopedia in Next War Epic (once you started a game) only shows the Civs and leaders that are currently in the game so if you are playing random leaders you can cheat a tiny bit and see who you are up against.

Not a big deal just avoid looking at the Civ and leader section until you meet everybody.

Airliner crash event

Support Apolyton or Terrorists Win

In the attached save, I get notified of the airliner crash event 3 times in 8 years - 1952, 1956 and 1960. I'm not sure that this is a bug (although I find it difficult to believe it is working as intended) and it may not be related to 3.17 (although I never noticed it before).

In some games, I've gotten that event every turn for a period (or it's actually only a noticiation, it has no affection). That's 3.13 + Bhruic, haven't tried 3.17 yet

Not sure about totally, but certainly noticed that there was no notification of collatoral damage for a tank with 3 barrage promotions.

If I had to guess, that's probably an event that is not frequently in games, but has a high frequency of occurring once in (or high frequency if you have a lot of aircraft).

In this case, I discovered Flight in 1931 and Advanced Flight in1945; I had not build a single aircraft of any sort. However, surely it should only happen once for each player in any given game, irrespective of how many aircraft have been built. Actually, I'm not sure whether it was one of "my" events, or whether it was an Incan event - either way, 3 times in 8 years seems too high.

rjmatsleepers, you can HONESTLY say that you haven't frequently seen airplane crash events before?? While in some of my games they are rare, in many they ARE frequent (in 3.13)!

Perhaps you aren't civvin' enough.

Lose 30 kilos (of popups)

Why reinstall for a patch? Can I just go to the menu when I insert the disc and "Get Updates". Wouldn't that be the easiest? I have BTS.

I've seen the aircraft crash event before - usually as the person in whose land the plane has crashed. I rarely see the other side of the event - where one of my aircraft crashes in an AI civ's territory and they have to decide what to do. This may be because I tend not to bother researching flight.

My point was that I didn't think it was intentional on the part of the game designers that the same event should happen 3 times in 8 years. Perhaps it was, but it seems rather odd.
